We also made a trip to Walmart as we had a bunch of coupons that we wanted to use.  Many of these coupons and deals are still available for you to take advantage of too!

In addition, we had a fantastic cashier that was also a couponer and she shared what she was planning to buy after work with her coupons and price-matching together, which made for a very speedy, pleasant and in fact, enjoyable Walmart shopping trip.

We shared with you our last Walmart trip, which was the worst we have experienced at our Walmart.  This cashier restored my faith in Walmart and reminded me why it is a great place to coupon.

Here’s what we bought:

  • 1 Gerber formula sale for $13.74. Then used $11.50/1 formula coupon check = final is $2.24
  • 2 ThermaCare Heat Wraps sale for $3.28 each = $6.56. Then use $3.00/2 printable (no longer available) = final is $3.56 for two or $1.78 each
  • 1 Tyson Chicken Nuggets sale for $4.98. Then used $1.00/1 printable = final is $3.98
  • 1 Pillsbury Sweet Moments sale for $2.50. Then used $1.00/1 printable = final is $1.50
  • 1 M&Ms candy sale for .74. Then used FREE coupon = final is FREE
  • 4 Sprout Organic Baby Food sale for .96 each = $3.84. Then used Buy 3 get one FREE coupon – .96 = final is $2.88 for four or .72 each
  • 2 Tyson Anytizers sale for $6.98 each = $13.96. Then used two $1.00/1 printable coupons -$2 = final is $11.96 for two or $5.98 each
  • 1 18-ct. Nature’s Harmony natural eggs sale for $2.83 each = final is $2.83
  • 5.39 lbs. of bananas at .52 lb = final is $2.80
  • 4 blocks of grass fed natural cheddar for $1.00 each = final is $4.00
  • 1 Minute Maid 10ct. Juice Boxes sale for $2.98. Then used $1.00/1 printable = final is $1.98
  • 2 Harvestland Gluten FREE Pasta sale for $2.18 each = $4.36. Then used two $1.00/1 printables – $2 = final is $2.36 for two or $1.18 each
  • 2 Flour Tortilla sale for $1.00 each = final is $2.00 for two or $1.00 each
  • 4 Sun-Bird Fried Rice seasoning mix sale for .78 each = $3.12. Then used two .50/2 printable coupons – $1 = final is $2.12 for 4 packs or .53 each
  • 2 Cascade 3-ct. packs sale for .97 each = $1.94. Then used two $1.00/1 from the 8/28 PG Insert = final is FREE plus .06 OVERAGE
  • 14 cans of collard greens clearance for .10 each = final is $1.40
  • 2 Kikkoman Sweet and Sour Sauce sale for $1.78 each = $3.56. Then used two $1.00/1 printables – $2 = final is $1.56 for two or .78 each.
  • 1 Fleishman’s Pizza Yeast strips sale for $1.04. Then used .40/1 printable = final is .64 each
  • 1 Neosporin Kids cleanser sale for $3.00. Then used $2.00/1 printable = final is $1.00

Summary: The total after the everyday low prices was $79.35. We then used $29.60 in coupons, which brought our total down to $49.75.  This is a savings of 37% off Walmart’s everyday low prices, just by using coupons.

Funny.. my last trip to Walmart was horrendous too! The cashier inspected every single coupon and matched it up with her cash register tape.. and then two peelies that I took RIGHT off the boxes wouldn’t go through and she said, “Sorry, we can’t use these, they won’t go through and we’re not allowed to push coupons through.” It was mortifying… I was seriously in line for a half hour. AND then when I thought it was over, the register beeped because I had went over the “coupon limit” … which was insane because I use WAY more coupons at Target.. I only saved $40, so it’s not like I was going buckwild, lol. 😉 It makes me never want to coupon at Walmart again, which I suppose is what they’re hoping for. :/

OK.. I read your horrible experience and it almost described my trip completely! They must have all went through training recently for that? You are right.. it also made me feel like I was some kind of criminal.. the kind of moment where you want to cry as soon as you get in your car.

That is so weird Lynn, you described my last trip exactly. I think you are right that they must have had some sort of training. However, it seems like such a waste of their resources when it takes them 3-4 times longer to check someone out, when they could be checking out several times more people in that time. Thankfully this last trip was much more pleasant and a wonderful cashier who understood coupons well 😉

I was just wondering what brand of grass-fed cheddar cheese you were able to find at Walmart. I have been trying to find products like that near me, and have not had much success.

Glad you had a much better experience at Walmart this time!

none of the cashiers are on the same page, what makes me mad is that I have to pick and choose what cashier looks like he/she will not cause an issue.
