Have you heard of the Squatty Potty?
We know we are weird. We like to save money, we like to find alternatives to healthier living that are more affordable, and we like to tell you about it once we believe in it!
We’ve actually been wanting to tell you about this for a long time and it’s on our list of “posts to do” that is about 5,000 ideas long, but since we saw an advertisement for a 4th of July sale, we upped the priority because, well, we like to save money and figured you did too.
We honestly think this next thing we are going to tell you about is completely worth the low-cost price even at full price. But when you can save, then save! In fact, it is 42% off through July 4th. They are claiming that this is their lowest price of the year.
It must be because I get their newsletter and this was the first “sale” that caught my attention.
Now it’s time to dive right into the subject.
Better pooping.
We don’t mean this to be funny, a joke or taken lightly. We are serious.
Six years ago, I saw a blog post from a healthy living blog that I follow. She talked about the importance for proper and healthier position when pooping for best colon and overall health. Honestly, it didn’t take me long to understand that our modern day of toilets has created a more unnatural pooping position. Sometimes technology is better (like the fact that we can flush the waste away without evidence, but it doesn’t make everything better.
In this case, our technology of a toilet has certainly made life cleaner and more convenient, but not great for our colons which naturally eliminate waste when in a squatting position. Squatty Potty explains this process best with as much class as you can when combining poop and science. I will share the illustration from their explanation in the image below.
But first, back to my story, and then we will get to the #2 point again (see what I did there?!). After reading the article, she said that these Squatty Potties were only $25 and solved the problem, allowing you to completely eliminate waste and solve the “I can’t easily” poop problem that many of us experience and we try to solve with fiber and laxatives. I am hesitant to admit I fall in this group, but I think this article already does that, so I will embrace it and say that this $25 stool changed my life in the bathroom. It has been one of the #1 things I have done for my health and my life-long struggle with constipation.
Alex doesn’t have the big problem I have, but he has noticed much easier and efficient toilet time (which is sometimes a negative for some men…you know, less time on the throne). Even without colon issues, it is a healthier way to eliminate your waste.
This was 6 years ago. We faithfully keep our Squatty Potty stools by each of our toilets (did I mention I have two Squatty Potty stools so no matter which one I run too, I have comfort and ease?) and I can’t live without them now.
This “healthy” change only cost us $25 per bathroom and we have been using them over 6 years. They are still in near perfect condition, super, super easy to clean. In fact, I set it in my shower, spray it down with my natural all-purpose or heavy-duty cleaner and run the shower on hot for a minute and it looks as good as new.
Look at it, it is 6 years old and well used!
Nicely tucks under/around the toilet for storing
Pulls out when ready to use!
Here’s where the cool part comes in. I bought this before they were well known, I bought this before they were on Shark Tank. In fact, I had baby #5, and I was having a HECK of a time doing my business in the hospital after having a baby, even with the stuff they give you. It was awful. I remember crying out to my husband and saying, “Go home and get my squatty potty!”
My husband said, “You will be going home soon, let’s just turn on the television and get your mind off of it and you can do your business at home.”
Men just do not understand how difficult the #2 thing is after you have a baby. I wasn’t impressed that he wasn’t willing to drive 40 minutes home and then 40 minutes back just to grab my Squatty Potty, when I would be leaving very soon. So rude. 😉
But no joke – here’s what happened instead. We turned on the television and one of our favorite shows was on: Shark Tank. You would NOT believe who one of the “contestants” was…Squatty Potty! I about fell off my hospital bed and was rooting for them all the way because I knew how much it helped me. At that point, I was faithfully using my Squatty Potty for a while at this point and completely believed in this product, especially because I didn’t need help from fiber drinks or anything else anymore.
In fact, it’s frustrating to me when I am not at home because it is much more difficult to do what I should be able to do. Whether on vacation, at someone’s home, I am just not as comfortable and able to go as easily as I know I could be. I try to mimic the squatting position when not at home, but I dare you to try and raise your feet and lean forward when you don’t have the Squatty Potty – it’s toilet gymnastics!
So, I tell everyone about it, well, only if the subject comes up – otherwise no one would come near me if I actually publicly sang it from the rooftops. So I don’t do that. But the subject comes up, especially as moms, and so I have told so many about it.
Now onto point #2… Why all of this raving about a dumb stool!?!
Here’s where the science and explanation comes in:
After Shark Tank, they became known and their company “exploded” and they have many new products, but we still have and love the original design they created called the Classic Ecco. It’s still $25 after all of these years and their crazy amount of growth. I am proud to be an owner before they became as well known as they are today. I really did think they were onto something when I first heard about, and now I have experienced better colon health for the 6 years since!
Here’s the better news, the Classic Ecco (that we own) is on sale for $14.50 when you buy two. Most households have at least two toilets and so you will likely want to have one in each bathroom.
If you have one bathroom, still get the two deal because it only costs a few dollars more for the second and would make a FABULOUS Christmas or birthday gift…but only to those you truly love. 🙂
This sale is only good through July 4th, so don’t miss it! There is also free shipping on orders of $20 or more, which means any Squatty Potty version you pick will come to you for free.
There you have it! I don’t know any other way to lay it out in a classy way than I have today. But, look past the potty talk and seriously consider the effects a better potty experience can have for you, whether you have issues or not, it’s a healthier change for everyone and will cost you $25 (or less) and last for years and years to come!
Grab your Squatty Potty HERE for $14.50 each with FREE Shipping too!
This video does an even better job of explaining it all:

I can’t order it at that price! I’ve tried several times too!
Anne
I can’t seem to order it at that price either. I’ve been trying to place an order for 3.

You can get to their website. They list the $14.50 price if you by 2, but when you get to checkout, you get the regular price. Nowhere does it say that the price will change after checkout. I tried to call customer service, but, of course they are closed because of the holiday. I will try tomorrow as I wanted to order two as well as the other people who replied. Perhaps you could help your readers with this issue? I noticed that there was no response from you?

I’ve had the same problem as everyone else. I tried going through Thrifty Couple link and through the website as well. I’m half tempted to order today, then contact customer service tomorrow and try to get price adjustment.

I just got off the phone with a customer service rep. (July 5, 11:30am DST) They didn’t admit to having any “issues” with their site, but were able to honor the sale pricing for me. I would suggest that you give customer service a call if you are still interested in ordering.

Yup, coupon not working. I kept trying and tried hitting the “apply coupon” button, but nothing worked. Really wanted to get these!

It’s now June 2021.This article is from 2017 so maybe that’s why people are having difficulty with the supposed “sale” price.
