Our $36 Organic Produce Order This Week from Bountiful Baskets Nationwide Produce Co-op

This is a sample from a previous organic basket!

Wow, it’s been since the beginning of June that we have participated in our produce co-op! Just like we have explained many times before, we use Bountiful Baskets in the late Autumn, Winter and Spring months as the value is good and the value is there.  But once summer hits, until early Autumn, we buy from many numerous farmer’s markets and farmers in the area. Well, we are heading out of that season now and so it is time to turn back to Bountiful Baskets and this is our first order this next year!

We almost always upgrade our basket for $10 to an organic one.  A conventional basket of 50% fruits and 50% veggies is $15 or $25 for an organic basket.  We do this if our budget allows, but since most of our budget is dedicated to the fresh foods, we can usually fit it in!

They also will have many other options and so this time we also included the Italian Pack that we have bought in previous orders and found it to be wonderful!

Here’s our order this week!

The only thing we were disappointed about is that the handling fee is now $2.50 instead of $1.50, but it is still a great deal!

If you want to see if they are available in your area too, then…

Head to Bountiful Baskets HERE and choose your state and then a pick-up location closest to you from the drop-down menu.

If Bountiful Baskets is not in your state yet, either contact them to see what they need to start one or keep watching for them to open up in your state too! They are rapidly growing and rapidly opening other states.  We have been fortunate to have been the first state and so we have been able to do this for quite some time!

*Please note, you only have until tomorrow night (Tuesday, November 5th) at 10pm PST to order your produce for this week for pick-up on Saturday at a local location!

Also, to fully understand what we are talking about, you do need to read this article HERE.

consider yourselves lucky! The handling fee is 4.50 in Nebraska and 5.50 in Iowa!

Wow – I wonder if these fees are new since our last order in June. Is this your first time ordering?

This is my second time ordering. I was not at all impressed with the Iowa site near my house last time (pick up started 20 minutes late) So I’m trying a different site this time. I do remember an email a while ago about upping the handling charge to pay for the increase in gas prices. Of course since gas is currently $2.85 a gallon in most of Southwest Iowa I’m not sure why we’re higher than Nebraska.

Bountiful baskets put out an email not that long ago about the rise in handling fees. They hadn’t done one in since they started and their fees have gone up, and they felt they weren’t putting out as high a quality basket because of it. I was much more pleased with what they sent me after the fee was raised. Also, I’m not as much a fan of the basket itself as the add-ons! the case prices are phenomenal.

Good to know Heather. We didn’t pay attention to any emails sent over the summer from them. But I am glad to hear that you are getting better results due to the fee increase! We are excited to see what we get Saturday. We too LOVE the add ons! We have gotten so many super deals this way and been able to preserve the produce for future use too!

      Thanks for the update!

Thanks for the tip about Bountiful Baskets! We just ordered our first one, and plan to show up early and volunteer for the extras. The handling charge here in Washington is $4.50.
