This Sunrise breakfast recipe is awesome! The presentation is fun, the ease of it is convenient and it is filling and a complete breakfast in one!

Also, if you use pre-cooked bacon (cook a whole bunch of bacon at one time and keep in the freezer for quick meals and breakfasts), this will make it even quicker. We show the Best Way To Cook Bacon. Also, sausage works well too! This post shows how we can get 26 breakfasts from $19 of natural sausage. This is a good meat addition too!

Of course, you can leave the meat out entirely and still have a great protein filled breakfast fast!

Well, let’s get one with the Sunrise Breakfast Recipe

Ingredients needed for Sunrise Breakfast:

  • 1 package of regular size crescent rolls (8ct.)
  • 8 slices of bacon or sausage crumbles
  • 1-1.5 cups of cheese
  • 5 eggs, pre-scrambled and cooked
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning (homemade recipe here)
  • 1 TBSP of olive oil

How to make Sunrise Breakfast

  • Prepare your meats (by cooking or getting out of the freezer)
  • Prepare your eggs by scrambling and cooking them with your preferred method
  • Lay out a piece of parchment paper onto a cookie sheet or grease a cookie sheet
  • Then open the crescent rolls and lay them flat into a circle – or a sun with 8 “beams” coming off your sun! Press the dough together in the middle.

  • Place a slice of bacon on each of the beams or spoon a pile of sausage in the middle.

  • Next, sprinkle the shredded cheese on each beam and in the middle!

  • Our family LOVES cheese, so we use more like 1.5 cups – yummo!

  • Next, pile the eggs in the middle of the sun.

  • Next, roll up each of the beams to the middle and press the dough together in the middle. This will make more of a bundt look!

  • Prepare the topping by using store-bought or homemade Italian Seasoning.  The homemade version is far more savory. 🙂 We use this seasoning several times a week for many homemade dishes, including spaghetti sauce and pizza sauce quickly with fresh or jarred tomatoes! But it is also used in hundreds of recipes in our home. So it is worth making this to have on hand.

Italian Seasoning-sm

  • Mix the Italian Seasoning and olive oil in a small bowl.

  • Then spread the topping onto the sunrise breakfast with a pastry brush.

  • Then bake on 350 degrees for about 10 minutes, or until it has browned. *If you are using a dark pan, you may want to decrease the temperature to about 325 degrees.

  • Serve warm!

  • This is a fabulous breakfast with 8 servings as we just cut on the natural crescent lines!

There you have it – a yummy, fun, filling, complete breakfast in one! This is so amazing!
