We wanted to share a quick tip from reader Faith and how she organizes the entryway items with her big family. This will work for any size family and makes getting out the door and keeping shoes/outer wear accessories together and all nicely accessible and organized, for even the littlest family member.
Tips like this can save you loads of time.
Faith went to the dollar store and bought these mini-laundry basket type baskets and has the cheap hooks attached to the wall. Under each hook, she placed a basket and then when the kids get home, they hang their coat (where they can all reach) and put their shoes and accessories in the basket under their coat right when they enter the house. This is great for coats, backpacks, sweater, jackets and more – then the basket for shoes, sandals, boots, etc.
Then, when it is time to go, they are fully dressed, except for shoes and walking out the door, they grab their items in their basket!
She said it works beautifully and makes for a very smooth “get out the door” experience. No more looking for shoes, hats, coats, gloves or anything else!
You could do this in an entryway, in the garage or a mud room! It is certainly something that even a beginning walker could accomplish!
Great organization idea on a dime thanks to reader Faith for submitting this tip!
