There are many reasons beyond a heart-shaped handmade gift to make lotion bars….
It’s easy.
It’s frugal.
It’s a natural and a healthy alternative.
Here we go! Let’s get this made and enjoy. 🙂
Items and ingredients needed for DIY Homemade Lotion Massage Bars (with heart-shape and essential oils):
- 1 cup raw cocoa butter
- 1/2 cup coconut oil
- 1/2 tsp. almond oil
- Lavender essential oil
- Wilton heart mold
Directions:
- Combine the butter and oils together in a small pot and heat on medium low until melted. Be sure not to boil.
- Place heart mold on a cookie sheet and pour melted butter into mold.
- Add the essential oils at this time. I would add 1- 3drops per slot, depending on how large the shapes are.
- Place mold into the fridge and allow it to completely cool, about 1 hour.
- Gently pop them out of the mold and store in an airtight container or the refrigerator.
- The bars will begin to melt in your hands if you hold them for too long, making them perfect for a nice warm oil massage.
Enjoy!

I was going to make these as a gift (they’re very cute!) – do you think they will be ok to give wrapped in small cellophane bags? or will they melt? thank you!

Would Shea butter work just as well as cocoa butter?

It’s a good idea to recreate at home. Or you can make a SPA corner in which you will relax. Also, you can read Theragun Pro review, which can complete such a room.
