Boy’s Dream Toy: A Car and Dino in One Plus Amazon Gift Card Giveaway

Okay, this is cool. Our boys just recently had the opportunity to review, err play with a cool new toy by VTech called Switch & Go Dinos. We have mentioned on our site several times how our boys like to play with both their sets of cars and their dinosaurs.

Well, guess what this toy is? It is a car or a dinosaur! Don’t think its just a transformer, as this is what I first thought of when I heard what the toy did – that is switching from a car to a dinosaur. But in fact, it is actually something a lot different.

Even though they can “transform” from one toy to the other, they also have some really cool features. The face of the toys will automatically change as well as the things they say. When it is in dinosaur form the screen on the face changes to show eyes that change to several different expressions. In addition, it shares about 30 phrases in this mode from acting like a tough ol’ dino to sharing interesting facts to make learning about dino’s fun. The facts include things like how many pounds of food it eats, how fast it can run, etc. – those kinds of facts! Our 5-year old has a serious interest in dino’s and has many books on them as he is eager to learn about them. So this extra learning fun was a cool additional feature while he was playing at the same time. Plus the animated LCD screen is a very fun way for them to interact.

When it is in car mode, you can see the screen change to look like a race car driver in the seat – and the driver changes too (as you can see above) and in this mode, you hear the vrooming and breaking car sound effects and says things like “start your engines,” etc. Both modes were super fun and our boys LOVED that they changed back and forth and played for hours.

The first time we pulled it out, they were so excited, even our 1-year old son! He was laughing and just having a ball with his big brother! Also, Cassie and I love learning toys, quality toys and also minimal toys. We like investing in good quality toys that lead to lasting and creative play. This one is awesome because it is high quality and consistent with the VTech name, and it was our boys’ two favorite toys in one, which means less toys around or out at one time too!
