We are going to share a peanut butter and banana version, but you can exchange those for other ingredients too and make a good variety of homemade granola bars.
Ingredients for Homemade Granola Bites with Banana and Peanut Butter: Yields: 12-16 bars
- 2 1⁄2 cups old-fashioned rolls oats (not instant or quick oats)
- 1⁄4 cup brown sugar (can use light or dark brown sugar)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1⁄2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 2 large ripe bananas, mashed (the more ripe the better)
- 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1⁄2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1⁄2 cup peanut butter chips
How to make Homemade Granola Bites with Banana and Peanut Butter: Time: 25 minutes
1. Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Spray 8” x 8” square (or 9” x 9”) baking pan with cooking spray or line with
parchment paper. Set aside.
2. Mix together oats, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Add in the milk, vanilla, and egg. Mix together
until evenly combined. Add mashed bananas, peanut butter, chocolate chips, and peanut butter chips. Stir well.
3. Pour the mixture into the pan and bake for 20 minutes. Allow to cool and cut into bars or bites.

These gluten free bars are not gluten free. I have had allergies for about 60 years and have been on a gluten free diet and there is 4 items on the list one can’t have if it is gluten free. Those items are baking powder, chocolate chips, peanut butter, peanut butter chips and oatmeal.
I see this a lot in recipes where people are claiming something is gluten free and it isn’t !!!!!!!!
