Homemade Granola Bars Recipes: Gluten-Free Peanut Butter Granola Bites

Buying already made granola bars is expensive. In fact, it is crazy how expensive they can get! But with a few everyday and simple ingredients that you probably have in your pantry now, you can whip this up fast and save money!  Throwing these together and baking for a few minutes means fresh, easy, tasty, simple ingredient snacks that will save you loads of money! You don’t have to buy these at the grocery store and make Homemade Granola Bars at home for a fraction of the cost!

Take it a step further and make with all organic ingredients for organic granola bars and bites snacks and you will still make organic homemade granola bars cheaper than buying the regular ones! This is another one of those grocery store replacement snacks that is easy and saves so much money.

Kids snack all of the time, but we do too and this has been a great alternative! In addition, they are naturally gluten-free! As you may know, anything with the “gluten-free” label automatically means a higher price.

Well, you have solved all of these problems very quickly and easily with this Homemade Granola Bars and Bites recipe. This is also an easy and fun recipe for kids to make and enjoy! We are going to share a peanut butter and banana version, but you can exchange those for other ingredients too and make a good variety of homemade granola bars.

Ingredients for Homemade Granola Bites with Banana and Peanut Butter: Yields: 12-16 bars

  • 2 1⁄2 cups old-fashioned rolls oats (not instant or quick oats)
  • 1⁄4 cup brown sugar (can use light or dark brown sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1⁄2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 large ripe bananas, mashed (the more ripe the better)
  • 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1⁄2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1⁄2 cup peanut butter chips

How to make Homemade Granola Bites with Banana and Peanut Butter: Time: 25 minutes

1. Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Spray 8” x 8” square (or 9” x 9”) baking pan with cooking spray or line with

parchment paper. Set aside.

2. Mix together oats, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Add in the milk, vanilla, and egg. Mix together

until evenly combined. Add mashed bananas, peanut butter, chocolate chips, and peanut butter chips. Stir well.

3. Pour the mixture into the pan and bake for 20 minutes. Allow to cool and cut into bars or bites.

    These gluten free bars are not gluten free. I have had allergies for about 60 years and have been on a gluten free diet and there is 4 items on the list one can’t have if it is gluten free. Those items are baking powder, chocolate chips, peanut butter, peanut butter chips and oatmeal.
    I see this a lot in recipes where people are claiming something is gluten free and it isn’t !!!!!!!!
