This is a guest post by Christy from Confessions of a Serial DIYer on how she upcycled a drawer that was sawed off a changing table. We love this idea and what she did with it!
When we decided to perform a small surgical procedure on my son’s changing table and remove the awkward hump, we were left with this spare drawer:
Would you believe my husband was heading to the trash with it? Silly hubby.
I finally found a great use for the little drawer; a mini bookcase for my son’s books! He loves to read in our bed, so our room was constantly littered with his books. By painting it to match our master bedroom, adding some feet I found at a yard sale, and giving it a pretty knob, it became the perfect place to store all of his favorites.
With just a bit of work and a cost of only $3.50 plus paint, which I already had on hand, I was able to turn a drawer that was headed for the trash into a very fun, practical, and accessible book storage solution for my son!
Head to Christy’s site at Confessions of a Serial DIYer for the complete steps she used for this upcycle.
