Test driving the car you are going to buy is the best part of car shopping! It is also the best time to make sure you feel comfortable in it and look for possible problems. The graphic mentions listening for noises and I think that’s a great point, all cars sound different but there are some very specific noises that you shouldn’t be hearing. Thanks for the tips!

I really like how the author suggested checking the transmission fluid! I bought my first car used, and because I did not go off of a proper checklist like this one, the engine light actually turned on when driving it off the lot! Although I was able to get it fixed really quite easily, this article could have helped me to avoid the hassle.

In order to ascertain that the car you purchase is not a liability in disguise, you need to get a pre purchase inspection done. Most auto service centers offer this service.

I’m thinking about buying a used car over the summer. I’ve never purchased a used car before, though, so I’m happy that I found your post! I really liked your tips, especially what you mentioned about checking the car’s make/model reputation. I think that doing this will help me to find a good quality car with few problems. I’ll be sure to do my research before I decide which car to buy! Thank you for the advice!

Thanks for making it a point f checking the engine of the car. I think a lot of the time, people only look at the outer appearance, and not the most important part of the car. I will have to make sure to educate myself about them a little more, so I can make better decisions.

I’m going to buy a used car over the summer, so I’m happy that I found your checklist! I especially liked that you mentioned the importance of checking the hoses and belts before buying the car. I don’t think that I would have remembered to do this! I’m going to print off your list to take with me when I go to look at cars so that I don’t forget to check anything. Thank you for sharing!

I need to buy a used car soon and so I really appreciate these 27 points that are made in this post, especially the one about checking on the vehicle history report. I definitely would not want to buy a car that is damaged. However, there are a ton of different types of accidents and reasons why a car might have damages, but which type of damages should I avoid?

I’m glad that you posted a few things that I should pay attention to when looking for a used car. It seems that buying one that’s in good condition is important to get the best value. Listening for any weird noised coming from the car and checking the brakes seem like important things to look for in a car. That would let me know if a used car needs any repairs once I decide to take it home. I’ll look out for any of these signs so that I can buy a car that’s in good condition.

These are some great tips, and I appreciate your advice to bring someone who knows about cars when you look at a used vehicle. I’m going to be moving out to college this fall, and I want to buy a vehicle so I can get around more easily. I have a close friend who is a car fanatic, so I’ll definitely see if he’d be willing to come with me to make sure everything looks good at first glance. Thanks for the great post!

Very cool checklist and nice picture, I kept it for myself. I’ve seen projects that can provide a checklist design template – https://cheqmark.io/template-gallery and it can help you create stuff like this for any occasion. It could be a weekend to-do list, or a wedding checklist.
