Here’s the details of Southwest’s Winter airfare sale for 2014:
Now the time to save on your winter trip. Don’t miss out on some of our lowest one-way fares of the season, as low as $49, $99, $129, $149, during our big winter travel sale.
Book early for the best selection of flights and fares. Book by October 16 for travel December 3 through December 17, 2014 and January 6 through February 11, 2015. See complete terms, conditions, and exclusions below.

We will continue to keep our eyes peeled for you this season, especially since this sale is not valid during the actual holidays, however this has been consistently one of the lowest airfare sales all year.
We did also see that there are a lot of options during this winter sale, actually more than usual for the lower prices. Usually our area never qualifies for the $49 prices and there are a handful of destinations departing from our city that are $49 this year (as opposed to past sales likes this) so we are going to assume that this may be the case for many areas and something worth looking at for any of your travel needs!
One thing to note, these prices are not valid for travel during Christmas and New Year, but if you can arrange your schedule to have an extended stay, you can maybe get your holiday plans in that window!
