I headed to Smiths (our Kroger Affiliate) by myself on Saturday as Thrifty Al and the kids ran through sprinklers on a finally warm Saturday here in Utah. Also, I went in hopes of cashing in on a lot of “double coupon items” this week with the extra coupon promotion – a lot of it was gone – but what can I expect for a busy Saturday afternoon!

So we do not have a picture of what we bought – we took the picture with our cell phone and the picture’s were deleted.I normally show our shopping trip with the coupon matchups and scenarios that we did.

But instead, this time  – I will just tell you about the shopping trip real quick.  We bought around $35 of fruits and veggies – some organic!!! We got broccoli, organic apricots, organic avocados, oranges, apples watermelon, strawberries, green onions, lettuce, onions, blackberries and blueberries, red peppers, radishes, grapes, cantaloupe, peaches and eggplant.

We then bought many things from the Grocery Smarts list and the double coupon event that was going on this week: bleach, 3 Pam Olive Oil cooking sprays, 2 Tropicana juices, Kroger chip and veggie dips, Kroger sour cream,  eggs, 5 French’s Worcestershire sauce, 3 challenge butter, 4 Orville Redenbacher popcorn.

Summary: the total was $112.44. We then saved 41.80 in-store savings (sales and discounts) which brought our total to $70.64. We then used $20.93 in manufacturer’s coupons and $2 in store coupons for $22.93 in coupons = final was $47.71!! And considering that $35 of this was just in produce = the second set of items came to only $12.71!!

I was a little disappointed because many of the items from the coupon event were completely wiped out! I kept calling through out the week after they received their newest trucks and they never were able to refill many of the items.  But that is okay as I am very glad that others were able to stock up on the killer discounted items this week! I hope it was you 😉
