Quick Target Shopping Trip – Saved 81%!!

June 22 by Cassie 1 Comment

We had a quick unplanned trip to Target last night.  We went to dinner and our FREE movie night out.  Well, we finished dinner earlier than expected and had about 45 minutes to kill. Target was right there – so although we didn’t have all of our coupons and trip planned out, we did have a few coupons with us and decided to hang out there for a bit and score the deals that we could!

Here’s a picture of our quick Target trip:

Here’s what we bought:

  • 2 Aveeno Overnight Relief Cream sale (see scenario) = final is $1.36
  • 6 Old Spice Body Wash (4 on sale for $3.54 and 2 at $3.99) = $22.14. Then used 3 BOGO FREE coupons PG 6/6 – $3.54×3 ($10.62) = $11.52. Then used $1/2 PG 6/6 = $10.52. Then received 2 $5 Target gift cards (in-store promotion, each set of 3, get a $5 gift card) so when considering this value = final is .52 for 6 or .09 each!!
  • 2 Seventh Generation Multi-purpose cleaner for $2.49 each = $4.98. Then used 2 $1/1 coupons (received them in the mail from a previous promotion, but you can print on the site here too!) = final is $2.98 for 2 or $1.49 each!
  • 1 gallon of whole milk for $1.69 = final is $1.69
  • 3.46 lbs. of bananas at .51 a lb. = final is $3.94

Summary: The total before the discount was $62.39. We then saved $24.62 on in-store sale prices, which made our total $37.77. We then used $15.62 in coupons = final out of pocket was $22.15. Then considering that we received $10 back in Target gift cards = final total was $12.15!! This is 81%!!!

I’ve been following your blog and loves it! Thanks for posting some great deals. I was wondering what state you live in because I have gone into Target several after reading your scenarios and found that the items that are on sale in your Target aren’t on sale in mine. I’m in New York City btw.

    Keep up the great job!!
