This will be our third year participating in the Book It program as homeschoolers. With that, here is a nice FREEBIE for your kiddos! Our older two girls have loved this program and now our son who just turned 6 (he barely missed the deadline last year) and who is already reading chapter books is able to participate. I think he is more excited than his sisters (one sister is super health conscious, but she will succumb to free pizza occasionally :)) This past year, our son zoomed through the amazing Hooked on Phonics program, one that we used in our house when I was a kid and we have now used it with our three oldest with complete success. We rave about it as it works and it works well, plus it is a very simple program to use and fit into busy schedules. Our three-year old will start this year, although she can’t be a part of book it for a while. But when she is ready, perhaps she will be where her brother is at and reading chapter books before she start! That is just how effective Hooked on Phonics is now for 2 generations in our family! Anyway, enough about Hooked on Phonics, we’re talking about free pizza in this post instead 😉
With that, you can apply to be a part of the 2012-2013 Pizza Hut Book-It program. Children in the following types of schools qualify: public, private, parochial or homeschool!
- To register and apply, just fill out the application HERE. They are accepting applications through September 1st (next two days) for a guaranteed spot and then after that is it only available as first come first served until the limit is reached.
- The packages will be sent out in September to start October 1st!
Also, remember that the parents do NOT have to make a purchase for the kids to get their FREE pizzas! Pick up the kids’ pizzas and take them home – unless it fits in your eating out budget and you have Pizza Hut coupons for you 😉
