We had a great trip to Target yesterday! As you may have noted from earlier posts, the kids and I were out most of the day shopping, eating and playing!

Well, we had a trip to Target that was great.  First, the awesome Scrubbing Bubbles were wiped out! Those hot ones go quick from all of you coupon shoppers 😉

Anyway, 2 things that we love about Target – the meat quality is superb and they have many natural meat selections and the second it that the produce quality is superb as well! They also have a nice price tag that goes with the natural and quality factor.  However, nearly every time we can find our favorite natural meats marked down and sometimes awesome produce selections also marked down!! We love to find those treasures and that was pretty much what the majority of this shopping trip was!!

So, without the awesome Scrubbing Bubbles – we still had a great trip as we got those high quality items cheap.

Here’s the picture:

Target trip may 14thHere’s the breakdown of what we bought:

  • 1 Nexcare bandaids (you can barely see it to the left of the meat!) Sale for $1.77. Then used Target coupon for .50/1 and $1.00/1 – $1.50 = final is .27
  • 1 Band-aid brand bandaids (again to the left there!) sale for $1.82.  Then used Target coupon for .50/1 and manufacturer’s coupon for $.50/1 SS 4/25 = final is .82
  • 1 Johnson and Johnson first aid kit travel size .97 (on the left and completely hidden:)). Then used $1/1 RP 3/14 = final is FREE
  • 1 Wet Ones sensitive skin sale for $2.14. Then used Target coupon for .50/1 = final is $1.64
  • 2 Crystal Light on-the-go sale for $1.97 each = $3.94. Then used 2 $1/1 = final is $1.94 for 2 or .97 each!
  • 1 French’s Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce sale for $1.49. Then used .50/1 = final is .99
  • 4 Nabisco 100-calorie packs for $2.41 each = $9.64. Then used 2 BOGO coupons – $4.82 = final is $4.82 for 4 or $1.20 each

  • 1 Finish Quantamatic Dishwasher detergent system sale for $5 (didn’t make it in the original picture). Then used $5/1 SS 4/11 = final is FREE

Marked down produce and meat – not on planned list, but super excited to find and well within  our grocery budget (in fact, still below the months total thus far!)

  • 8 Melissa’s all-natural beets $2.49 each= $19.92.  Marked down to $1.00 each – $11.92 = final is $8 for 8 or $1.00 each
  • 1 Roast priced for $5.05. Had a store coupon for $2.00 off = final is $3.05
  • 1 Package of bacon and cheddar sliders 10 ct. priced at $6.49. Marked down to $2.99 = final is $2.99
  • 2 2-lb packages of all-natural beef regular priced for $13.96 sale for $3.89 each = final is $7.78
  • 2 1-lb packages of all-natural beef regular priced for $7.18 sale for $1.99 each = final is $3.98
  • 2 1-lb pack Yoplait Plus yogurt marked down to $1.56. Then used $1/1 = final is .56
  • 1 2-ct pack of fresh artichokes regular priced for $4.49. Marked down by $2.92 = final is $1.57
  • 1 package Green Giant Broccoli Slaw regular priced for $2.49. Marked down by $1.12 = final is $1.37
  • 2 packages of Green Giant Garlic and Butter Broccoli and Carrots regular priced for $5.98 total. Marked down by $1.62 each = final is $2.74 for 2 or $1.37 each
  • 1 package for Green Giant Sugar Snap Peas regular priced for $4.99. Marked down by $3.62 = final is $1.37
  • 2 packages of Green Giant Fresh Green Beans with Garlic and Butter regular priced for $7.98. Marked down by $5.24 = final si $2.74 for 2 or $1.37 each!
  • 2 packages of Green Giant Fresh Teriyaki Stir Fry veggies and sauce packet regular priced for $7.98. Marked down by $5.24 = final is $2.74 for 2 or $1.37 each!

Grocery Summary: Shelf price of the above trip was $114.84, with $88.07 of it in meats and produce. Then used $16.32 in coupons and saved $49.18 in mark downs. Plus I had a $10 Target gift card from a previous trip that I got for FREE so this makes for a total of $75.50 in total discounts = final spent was $39.34! Saved 65%. Not bad at all with nearly all of it being organic and all natural meats and produce!

We also hit the clothing rack and I am going to show these separate as they come out of our $60 a month clothing budget.

Here’s a picture of what we bought:

target clearance clothing

I was so excited as they had absolutely adorable girls dresses on clearance for our baby girl to wear now.  Plus bought 2 complete outfits for our son for next year!

The total of all of these clothes was $109.94. The clearances prices brought them to $30.65. I then used the Target coupon for $5 off $30 clothing purchase which brought the new total down to $25.65!!! A savings of 77% off! I love the blue and purple flower dress – it is soooo cute.  Our 5 and 6 year old girls fell in love with the fluffy pink dress (so she can be just like a princess of course!). So now the baby is decked out in summer dresses for CHEAP! Yay!

Target clearance racks have such great buys. I remember purchasing a black, short jacket for just $5.
    What a great store!
