I went to Rite Aid tonight to stock up on diapers! We actually hadn’t purchased any yet during the rebate to earn 1 FREE pack of diapers when you purchase 5. So I did the exact transactions that I posted about earlier. Now to be honest with you, I wasn’t sure if it would print the $1 UP+Rewards for EACH pack of diapers in the transactions – the wording on the ad was vague and so earlier I just posted about getting one of these $1 rewards per transaction!
Well guess what!! You actually get an Up+Reward for EACH pack you purchase! So the following scenarios are now even better and updated with the new information!
Here’s a picture of the diapers I purchased following the 2 scenarios below and my two receipts with $5 in Up+ Rewards!
The +UP Rewards program is a lot like catalinas or Walgreens Register Rewards = essentially Rite Aid cash to use on your next transaction! The rewards will print at the bottom of your receipt! In order to earn these +UP Rewards, you will need to join the Rite Aid Wellness + Rewards program!
Also, when you join the Rite Aid Wellness + Rewards program (it’s FREE) as first time sign-up (new email addresses) you will also receive a number of Rite Aid coupons, including a $5/$25 purchase coupon! Plus, check out previous post for a number of Rite Aid total purchase coupons!
As a refresher: the Rite Aid Huggies jumbo packs rebate for FREE pack when you buy 5 is going on until 7/24/10. First, log-on to your Single Check Rebate account to see if you have already purchased any Huggies towards this promotion. I am going to show with needing to purchase all 5 at one time, but this can be adjusted to accomodate any past qualifying purchases you have made! Also, check your video values account to see if you have any diaper coupons waiting to be printed or if you have printed some and not used them yet as many have long expiration dates – if you do, the following deals will be even better!! I actually had one of the $1.00 off Huggies diapers left from last month that doesn’t expire until 6/30/10!
The following is what everyone can get NOW with coupons available now! To see the full list of diaper and wipes coupons available – see our previous post. We will just have a link to one in each scenario as it would get too large 😉 If you have printed some of them before, they may have re-set, many had re-set for me!
Here we go on maximizing, please do this in 2 transactions for best deals!
Transaction #1:
- Buy 2 Huggies diapers for $8.99 each (with Wellness + Rewards program card) = $17.98
- Purchase anything in the store for $2.02 or more to get your total over $20 (you could purchase Huggies wipes and then use the current video values coupon along with the .50/1 Huggies wipes manufacturer’s coupon) or see For The Mommas for money makers and more ideas!
- Then use $5/$20 Rite Aid video values coupon (after watching enough videos for 20 credits – you can only do this one time per month and June’s video values have now started!) = $12.98
- Then use 2 $3/1 – $6 = $6.98
- Then receive 2 $1 +UP Reward to use on your next transaction (1 per transaction), so when considering this discount = $4.98
- Then submit for $2 SCR single check rebate (one per rebate period)= final is $2.98 for 2 packs or $1.49 each!! PLUS 2 packages to go towards your FREE pack! Plus $2.02 in other items/money makers!
Transaction #2:
- Buy 3 Huggies diapers for $8.99 each = $26.97
- Then use $5/$25 Rite Aid coupon (see previous post for a list of $5/$25 coupons) = $21.97
- Then use 3 $3/1 – $9 = $12.97
- Then receive three $1 +UP Reward to use on your next transaction (1 per transaction), so when considering this discount = $9.97
- Then submit for FREE pack of diapers rebate (one per rebate period) = final is $9.97 for 4 packs or $2.49 each!!
Grand Summary between the 2 transactions: Final total is $12.95 for 6 jumbo packs of Huggies diapers or $2.16 each!! (plus your $2.02 for other items – which hopefully you can cash in on the money makers here!)
Also, be sure to check our Diaper Size Chart to find out how many diapers are in each size and type of diaper package! This will help you to determine your cost per diaper!

Do you still get all 3 of the $1 +UP rewards when you do 3 in one transaction? I thought it was 1 +UP reward per transaction. So even if you bought 3 you would only get 1 +UP reward. I haven’t tried it so that’s why I’m asking. That’s just what the ad says about the +UP rewards. Thanks!
Jenna
I’m also talking about 3 of the same item for the +UP reward in one transaction, just to clarify.
thriftycas
That is what I thought and posted about originally as the ad was vague about this. So I went and tried it and in both transactions received an +UP reward for EACH one! I bought 5 packs in 2 transactions, but received $5 in +UP rewards! Yay!
Beth over at Penny Pantry
I only got 1 UP reward per transaction??
Anyway…it still worked out to being a great deal on diapers…especially since i was able to take advantage of the clearanced out Huggies diapers in this deal.
Ginny
Thanks for posting this and putting the exact steps. I am excited to try this.
Beth @ Penny Pantry
Awesome!!! I missed the CVS diaper deals last week…. looking to stock up on some great huggies diapers at Rite Aid!!!! Thanks
Rachel
Can you use the $2 +Up rewards on the second transaction? How do these coupons work?
Sherry
Rachel – that was my question too. Can we use UP rewards in the scenarios above?
thriftycas
Hi Rachel and Sherry, You could always ask! It never hurts to do so. It will be completely dependent upon each store/cashier!
Thanks!
Cassie
Maranda
So how do you print off 3 $3/1 coupons? My printer only lets me do two?
thriftycas
Hi Maranda,
Just as the post says, there is only one link in the scenarios so it doesn’t get too large, but see the previous post for the full list. The link to the previous post is here too: https://thethriftycouple.com/2010/06/14/best-deals-on-diapers-this-week-613-619-come-link-your-deals/

I went today and bought 3 packs of Huggies in one transaction and I only got 1 $1 Up reward not 3. When I asked the cashier she said she had no idea how it worked. I also bought multiples of the Coppertone and only 1 Up reward printed per transaction.
Jenni
this same thing happened to me. i only got one $1 +up reward per transaction. i also asked the cashier about using +up from one transaction would it still print the ones on the next transaction. she had no idea. someone will have to test this. i live in salt lake city.
Jenna
I “rolled” the +UP rewards last week on the Old Spice and it worked just fine- and I did 8 transactions last Monday and 2 more last Thursday- used the $4 +UP reward and another printed out just fine. So I think the +UP are like CVS in that way, except there is no limit to the amount of times you can get the +UP reward 🙂
Ada
OK, did my second transaction today and it went smoothly as my first. I tweaked a little bit from your transactions depending on my needs.
First transaction:
2 jumbo huggies + 1 head and shoulders shampoo = 8.99×2+2.99 = 20.97 after coupons I paid only 8.47 and then got a 1$ UP reward.
Second transaction I got the rite aid baby wipes and 2 packs of huggies and paid 10.27$ and got back 1$ in UP rewards.
After work I went in to do the 3rd transaction, but my plan failed me miserably.
I was thinking of getting my last jumbo pack and also ordering the mousepad for 12.99 (I had the rite aid coupon to get it for free). So my total would have been 12.99+8.99 = 21.98 – 5$ off 20$-1$ UP-1$ Rite Aid Huggies coupon-3$ huggies coupon -12.99 = overage??
Anyways, I could not order the mousepad at the store, because the lady was bitching that they don’t accept the coupon, but I had to order online.
So since I needed my last jumbo pack, I went and browsed the store for a ‘quick’ deal. Here’s where I messed up.
I got the reach toothbrush for 4.79 and it said 3$ SCR in there (well turns out they did not remove the sticky, this was only valid until 6/12)
I got the johnson and johnson cloth tape for 4.49 it said 3$ SCR (online I read that this was when you purchased 2 of these, but the yellow sticky on the item did not say that).
So here’s my question, can I return these items back and still get the prices with the coupons that I scanned? They scanned the 5$ off 20$ (order was a total of 23$) , or will they pro-rate the prices…how does this kind of return work?
Thanks.

People give, but they take more, I do not need in your life. I prefer to get love than jealousy. Just as the will to get money than to lose.

I just wanted to say that when I went in and tried to do things this way it didn’t quite work. I handed her the $5 off $25 coupon first, but then she sat it aside. Then she did my $3 off man. coupons which made the total come down too much so I had to add a few things that I was going to buy to the transaction. This was kind of a wash, but then it only gave me one UP printed coupon. So be careful. Then when I tried to use the UP coupon with a man. coupon, and I had two .15 candies, it wouldn’t take the man. coupon. Needless to say, I was pretty annoyed. I live in Colorado and this extreme couponing thing is new to me and isn’t very popular out here. I loved the idea, but next time I’ll probably do things a little differently.
