I love this!

You can make your own, very effective, aromatherapy tissues.

In our family, we have bad environmental allergies, we have asthma and we get the occasional cough and cold.  Well, I discovered a trick that helped to ease our symptoms and bring a little comfort and healing, not matter the source.

It is making your own Aromatherpay Tissues.  Or in other words, “essential oil infused tissues for relief, comfort and healing.”

It is so simple, it’s kinda ridiculous! You don’t want to actually put the oils on the tissues as it will be overpowering and perhaps uncomfortable for the user.

But, having the tissues infused with essential oils is an effective way to receive the benefits!

It is a very easy process to make your own!

Step #1 – Gather your supplies – box of tissues and your essential oil of choice.

step1

These are wonderful respiratory oils to use! Lavender for soothing, Eucalyptus, Rosemary or Peppermint for respiratory comfort.  It help to ease coughs, congestion, asthma, colds and other respiratory issues.

I am also showing that you can use the Lavender or Peppermint that you may have from our 7 Best Essential Oils for cleaning post too! You can also buy Rosemary or Eucalyptus from the site shared for around the same cost!

Step #2 – Take a box of tissues and open up the side or bottom flaps of the tissue box carefully to not ruin the box.

step2

Step #3 – Put a drop of oil on each of the four flaps.

step3

Step #4 – Put a spot of glue on each of the 4 place inside that it was sealed as well as the seal for the outer flap.

Step #5 – Hold the re-glued spots in place for a couple of minutes.

step5

Step #6 – Use them when you need them!

It is seriously that simple – it was quite an effort to drag it out to six steps 🙂

A note on the oil selection:

For this project, you are probably safe using any therapeutic grade oils.  There are varying degrees of essential oil purity and with that, they are to be used for certain purposes.  Since you are not directly applying to your skin or ingesting it, a therapeutic grade would be fine. Check out the post on the 7 Best Essential Oils for cleaning because some of the oils listed above are also part of this set and you can also get great deals on the other remaining oils!

Hi, thanks for that post! What a great idea! There is a group on FB calles ‘Using essential oils safely’ they had different oils from different companies tested for their purity, by a 3rd party lab. The list gives you a good idea of what oils are the purest (explained in detail) so you don’t have to spend a ton of money on name brand EOs I know you’re all about saving money, so I thought I’s shate the info 🙂

This is a great idea and I will def. be trying this. However, even though you aren’t putting the oil on your skin or ingesting it,when using an oil as aromatherapy, it’s going into your lungs, into your circulatory system. Why wouldn’t you use the most pure oils? Young Living is 100% pure, able to be used topically, through inhalation and ingested because of their seed to seal guaranty.
