You know us – from the first day we started our website until today we have shared that to find true success in whatever you do that you need to Be Intentional each step of the way. That is no less true when it comes to your finances.
Unfortunately we learned that the hard way. If you’ve followed us for long, you know that soon after we were married, we found ourselves (err, spent ourselves) into over $108K of consumer debt, starting that journey by having to get a loan to check out of our hotel on our honeymoon.
Yep, we admit it. We weren’t always intentional and learned through the school of hard knocks where not living the Intentional way can get you. We were dodging the creditors with bills up to 120 days late (or more), living just days away from bankruptcy.
On a special Mother’s Day morning all that changed when we found ourselves expecting our first child, years after struggling with infertility. At that point, we knew something had to change.
It was then we started our journey towards debt freedom, start with those popular ‘crash diet’ approaches that just didn’t work for us. We kept falling off the wagon and wound up paying off just $15K in 3.5 years. We found a better way – one that has become known as our 2% Rule that we used to pay off over $90K in a short amount of time. A plan that unbelievably uses small, gradual change to add up to HUGE change quickly – and resulted in us paying off more than we could imagine in a short amount of time.
And friends, we were honored to get a call from Page Street Publishing, a division of Macmillan, last year asking if we would share our story and provide a step-by-step guide on how we did it, sharing with as many as will listen to help encourage and place those tools in their hands to help them pay off their debt (or meet whatever financial goal they might have)!
So we are just a couple of days away from the release of our book and we wanted to share something special with you. Not only do we have our book coming out, but we have a 64 page workbook that accompanies the book with all the worksheets and tools we used to pay off our debt – obviously updated and formatted better than our original notes we used years ago – that we will be selling when the book releases on Tuesday.
Here’s how you can order the book and workbook!
We hope that you know that by buying this book, it’s just another step in your own journey. Each step of the way, know that we are here. This is not just another book that when you turn the last page you are done with the book, but instead when you turn the last page (and even as you read through the book), know we are here to answer your questions and help you each step of the way!
Finally, we want to say thank you. Without readers like you, encouraging us to keep sharing along the way, we wouldn’t have had the chance to write this book. Please know that from day one our heart’s goal has been to share not only the steps towards debt freedom but the hope for those that are hopeless. We’ve been in the darkest and most desperate times of our lives, not knowing whether we would ever find a way out and can share boldly that there really is a light at the end of the tunnel. Our prayer is that this book and workbook might serve as a tool that many use to find that light and one day experience the joy of true debt freedom.
