This looks like a really cool idea! We just signed up and I am looking forward to trying it out.

What is it? Well it is a site called ThredUp.  It is essentially a children’s clothing swap. The idea is that you pick a box from the list of different genders, sizes and types of clothing. You will then pay just shipping of $13 for the box of clothing.  You will also list a box of clothing your are “swapping” for each box that you claim.  It is really simple as they send the FREE USPS boxes right to you and you are ready to go.  It seems very easy and convenient.

This service is FREE for the basic membership – you will just need to pay the shipping on the boxes of clothing that you pick. If you wanted to upgrade your membership, you can pay $19.99 for 6 months or $29.99 for a year (that is not bad membership fees at all for something like this!). The upgraded membership essentially allows you to have access to the details of what is in the box of clothing you selected and adds more children clothing specifications, etc.

Right now, if you click through this link to ThredUp to register, and enter code: mysavings and you will get 2 months of upgraded membership for FREE.  HURRY as we are not sure how long this promotion will last – it is a great way to “test the waters” with this type of children’s clothing buying alternative.

Registration is easy and FREE. It is important that you verify your registration by checking your email immediately after and clicking on the link to verify your FREE membership and then you can get started swappin’ boxes!

So you don’t know exactly what the clothes in the box look like?

It looks like it gives you more of a generic description like: girls, 3t shirts. But I believe (at least my understanding) that if you have a Pro Membership (the one you pay for) that you do get more details as to what is inside of each box. Also, someone on Facebook also said that each box includes a new item too? It is something worth checking out!
