Introducing a New Feature: Make and Print Your Own Shopping List

If you have noticed our dust, you can see that we are going through a lot of changes here at The Thrifty Couple!  We recently introduced our NEW Coupon Database in which you can search for coupons for your favorite products!  Today we want to introduce the next step after that – we are adding a number of grocery store lists that you can use to compile your weekly shopping lists.  The lists we are offering are compiled by a network of store experts that will provide you with high quality matchups for the store you prefer to shop at.

Right now we are offering two stores – Smiths (a Kroger affiliate) compiled by store expert My SLC Mommy and Publix compiled by store expert Passionate Penny Pincher.  Over the next two weeks you will see this number grow exponentially as we start including lists from every region in the country.  We do want you to know that we are getting lists of the major stores – but we also want to hear from you which stores you would like to see added to our site.  Leave a comment to share with us which stores you would like to see and we will do what we can to find a store expert that can make that list!

A quick tutorial:

We wanted to share briefly how our new lists work.  If you follow this quick steps you will find out just how easy it is to make your shopping list!

1.  Navigate through the list and choose the items you wish to purchase – Notice the excerpt of the list above.  You will note the name (and size where appropriate) of the items on sale for the week.  Also see that the coupons for those items are included underneath in the description – with either dates and sources of coupons from the inserts OR direct links to where you can print off the coupon for that item!  Click the checkbox next to the item when you find an item you wish to add to your list.

* Please note we will be providing store guides, coupon policies, as well as individual list format information in the weeks to come for each store.

2.  Note in the bottom right hand of the site the “My List” tab activates and shows you the items you have added to your list – If you were wondering what that “My List” tab was down on the right hand of your site for the last week – you can now rest knowing what it is.  You can review your full list and remove any items by clicking the “X” next to the name of the item in the list.  When you are ready to print your list you can click “PRINT”.

3.  Before you print your final list, you have the option to add any items that were not on the list (e.g., eggs, or an item you need not on sale) and have the flexibility to add notes to your list to make sure you don’t forget any details or something you might want to check. Finally you can print it off (no color banners) so you can take your coupons and your list to the store!

We will be continuing to streamline this process but wanted to let you know about it.  We are so excited and hope you will be too – especially when we get your store into our database.

Make sure to check our current list of stores and keep checking back as we add to it.  Also check out our most recent version of the Weekly Diaper Deals as we utilized this list there as well – you can print out your favorite deal scenario for the week and take it to the store with you!  We look forward to hearing from you and we hope you love it!

Hey, I am fairly new to reading your site, but I love it. So happy you asked for comments about adding stores to the shopping list, and that you want to include different regions, as I don’t have your grocery stores in my region. So, I am here to ask if you could somehow add in stores in the Northeast (NY area) such as Stop and hop, Pathmark, or Waldbaum’s?
Thanks for all the work you put in to finding and sharing the great deals!

Winco would be good. Also, when you print the list, does it tell you which items are part of the buy 10 get $5 off deal? It would be nice to keep them separated. I really enjoy your site! Thanks.

I’ve been so impressed with your site so far, strong work!
I live in upstate NY and everyone here only shops at one grocery store—Wegmans. I would love to see it added to your list 🙂

I am signed up to a number of frugal blogs but i cant find a good one for Price Chopper here in Massachusetts. I am not sure how far their customer reach goes but it would be nice to see.
