INDULGE in Dairy-Free and Sugar-Free Hot Cocoa (Made with Superfood Cacao Powder)

I am so excited to share with you that after hours of experimenting in the kitchen (all for you! 🙂 ) the result is this perfect recipe for “deceitfully healthy” hot cocoa.  You probably know that one of our most popular recipes is our perfect and fabulous Bulk Homemade Hot Cocoa mix; don’t you worry as this new concoction won’t leave you feeling left out. 

As any middle-aged mom knows, we try to cut back on sugar, carbs and fat. I also get a bit of a tummy ache when I drink milk, but I wanted to find a solution to indulge in the hot chocolatey goodness with my kiddos too!

So I hopped into the kitchen and grabbed our raw cacao powder and the powdered stevia to make the “mom and dad’s” version of hot cocoa! 

And the results are AH-mazing! In fact, it tastes so much like the real stuff, that I am now giving this to my kids and they have no idea.

Oh, and have I mentioned the health benefits of raw cacao? Yeah, now you can really relish in being healthy and not give it a second thought. Am I right?!? 

Want to know the even better news? It’s super, duper easy to make! 

Here’s what you need per one cup of Dairy-Free and Sugar-Free Hot Cacao:

  • 2 Cups of almond or coconut milk
  • 2 TBSP of raw cacao powder
  • 2 TBSP of baking stevia

Optional: add 1 drop peppermint or cinnamon essential oil (the type that is safe for consumption)

Note on the Raw Cacao: THIS is the version of raw cacao that we use and have purchased for over a year now. It is our favorite and this has been the most economical way to get it!

How to make Dairy-Free and Sugar-Free Hot Cacao:

  • Heat the almond or coconut milk on the stove at a med-low temperature.

  • Once it is slightly boiling, add the raw cacao and stevia and whisk until well blended.

  • Then serve it up!

Just double, triple, quadruple….the amounts equal to the number of servings you want.

Once you try this, I think your life will be changed. It might not be for the good though as you may find yourself snuggled up in your pj’s, on the couch, next to the fireplace with a good book and a healthy dose of hot cocoa every moment of every day….sorry about that! 😉
