I want to share with you how to get new kids clothes for cheap. I just had a lot of fun. We save our monthly allotted clothing budget, but only spend it every once in awhile.
Today was that day!
If I buy new clothes, there are three places I regularly shop: Kohl’s, Children’s Place, and Crazy 8. I LOVE all three of these stores and they get a chunk of my money about once or twice per year.
Today, both Children’s Place and Crazy 8 each got a chunk! They are having an amazing sale/clearance on clothing for summer and beyond.
I spent $200 total between the two stores online, got amazing deals and free shipping. I purchased clothing for 5 kids – around 10 items each (2-3 bottoms and 6-8 tops). I only spent an average of $40 per kid!
I have six kids, but one is now a teenager and I just spent $80 at Kohl’s for her last week. She’s no longer a kid and I loaded her up with 7 tops and 3 bottoms for $80 after all of my Kohl’s discounts. I really cannot beat this for a teen.
And I really cannot beat $40 a kid for my other kids, whether new or used.
I also did this last August at Crazy 8. I purchased 35 items for my three boys for $80 total. So all three boys got their next season of clothing for about $26. I can consistently get enough new clothing for each child a couple of times a year and spend less than $50 each kid every time.
But I prepare for these sales. We set aside clothing money each month, it’s just that I end up spending it only a couple of times per year because these “rock bottom” sales only happen a couple of times per year.
And when I do, it is nothing but pure shopping spree, debt-free fun! I love it! Guilt-free shopping, deal-shopping, pure-fun shopping…the list goes on. I am a shopper, thus part of the reason we got into over $108k of consumer debt before we had kids. I still love to shop, but it’s just calculated, guilt-free, debt-free and fun!
I wanted to give you a head’s up on these sales going on at Children’s Place and Crazy 8 online right now ONLY!
First, Children’s Place clearances prices are a little better than Crazy 8’s right now, however, Crazy 8 also has a coupon code for 17.76% off for the 4th of July. So they end up close to the same prices.
I got 28 items at Crazy 8 for $127 before tax (average of $4.23 each item).
A sample of a few items from my cart.
And 19 items at Children’s Place for $76.18 before tax (average of $4.01 each item).
A sample of a few items from my cart
So the prices are really close in the end!
Children’s Place Deal: TODAY July 3rd ONLY
70% off clearance and FREE shipping (plus earn a $5 reward every $100)
Head to Children’s Place HERE for the sale today!
Crazy 8 Deal: Through July 4th at 11:59 pm
80% off clearance, extra 17.76% off with coupon code: GOUSA and FREE shipping
Head to Crazy 8 HERE for the sale today and tomorrow!
One thing I want to point out is that although Crazy 8 sale discount is deeper and they have a percent off code, Children’s Place prices start off lower. So Children’s Place ends up still be slightly less than Crazy 8, but both about the same in the end!
I would love to hear what you were able to grab as the items are selling out! I wanted to get a really cool “space” glow-in-the-dark shirt for my son for $3.50, but was gone by the time I checked out. So hurry. 😉
What I would now recommend for the future is to save your monthly allotted clothing budget. Make it through this next season and begin saving for the next big sale so that you can get brand-new clothing for rock-bottom prices for clothes all year round from now on!

People always ask how I manage to get my family such nice stuff. I shop online clearance like a savage beast. I shop off season. But mainly, I also keep money saved and tucked away for those great deals. If you don’t have it, you can’t spend it. I am patient and the payoffs are great. I am implementing some ideas I remember you posting about and plan on digging for those posts. Thanks for all your help
Cassie
Yes! That is exactly what I do!! You have to start a plan, but once you do, you are ready for these amazing sales!
