We wanted to tell you about this organization called Give-A-Tent! This group was actually co-started by my brother, Kenny, in Michigan. So when Kenny told us about this opportunity, we wanted to pass this on to you. This is a not-for-profit group which has obtained much of it’s support from Christian churches as well as individuals! Every penny goes back into the purchase of tents for the homeless! The current project and need are those still left homeless in Haiti.
Our hearts and prayers still go out to those in need and that have lost so much due to the earthquake tragedy that struck Haiti on January 12 of this year. Thanks to the efforts of Money Saving Mom, we were able to be a part of money raising efforts for the people of Haiti. By your comments and links all over the blog world, thousands was donated! Although many months have past, the needs have not!
Many, many are still left homeless and without shelter. It will take many more months, if not years for them to regain their lives and shelter back! But there is a way that they can be helped as they continue to re-build their lives, this is through an organization like Give-A-Tent.org!!
What is Give-A-Tent?
Give-A-Tent provides a way for tents to be donated to those needing shelter still in Haiti. There are many ways that you can contribute to this effort! Donate a used tent, purchase a new tent, or donate money for tents! Many churches and individuals have already contributed and organizing efforts to this cause!
They will be sending the shipment of tents the end of this month (May). If you are able, please donate tents, funds and/or your efforts in spreading the word about this cause to others so that the 700,000 number of homeless can be reduced even more!
Let us continue in prayer for the people of Haiti as they are still recovering from this tragedy!
Please leave a comment on how you were able to help and encourage others to do the same!

Thanks for posting this! To date, there have been over 600 tents donated and several large tents provided to schools that were destroyed in the quake! Our goal is to send 1000 tents by the end of May. 1,000 tents will house over 7,000 homeless people in Haiti. You can donate a tent through our website http://www.giveatent.org Tents cost between $50 and $150. Thanks for your help. God bless!
