I love fall, it’s my favorite season of all time. Nothing beats the cool weather, and the leaves falling on the ground. I love going apple-picking at the local orchard and bringing some home to make some warm apple crisp. I also love carving pumpkins, cooking pumpkin seeds, and making pumpkin pie. All kinds of yummy fall food!! 😀

I am a warm weather person and easy for me to become sad when summer and all the gorgeous flowers are coming to an end. However, fall to me is a new start. I do fall cleaning – easy to scrub walls when the temps are not in the 90’s. I do some freezer baking. It’s football season and we always meet new parents whose kids play football also. I have baked itmes done to pull out for tail-gate parties. My kids love helping to decorate for fall – I have 6, ranging in age from 29 to 7. Mums, cornstalks, pumpkins, gourds. We add the Halloween decorations later. I always clean out closets and drawers once the kids go back to school. They don’t like to part with things so much easier to do while they are not home. Happy Fall everyone!

Raking up leaves and jumping in them like a bunch of crazies is always good for a fabulous free fall afternoon.

My kids love to help grandma rake the leaves then jump in them. This gives them a fun activity and helps her clean up the yard for winter. The only problem is getting the kids to dispose of the leaves instead of leaving them to jump in “tomorrow”.

Our family loves to pack a picnic gab the kites and head to Brown County State Park
Best fall views in the state. The kids pick a few leaves to trace with crayons so our house can have all the colors of fall.

My tip is to do nightly walks with the family. It helps to keep us fit even when it gets a little chilly. Of course we bundle up.

I love to go through corn mazes. We only go once because the costs could add up otherwise, but that also keeps it special each year!

This is the time of year I enjoy planting perennials in my garden for next year. They are usually on sale at the nurseries plus, I don’t have to worry about watering them all through the summer. They have all of fall, winter (during dormancy)and spring to grow healthy root systems. When Summer comes, they are healthier and need less water to survive.

My fall tips are to stock up on the end of summer clearance sales for next summers wardrobe for the kids, I got some great deals at Kohl’s this year!! Another fall tip is to start making weekly soup nights. I love how cosy and warm soup is, plus it is usually more thrifty to make!!
