A display bookcase is a popular, easy, fun way to enjoy a home library. These are perfect for kids’ rooms because the books are on display and easy to find. They are perfect the picture books and kids size books. Kids have easy access, but the books stay in place and don’t fall out. They are easy to take in and out and much easier way to keep books organized!
This DIY project is easy and cheap to do! This project tutorial is done by Sandra from My Little Boy Blue. She shares how they built this simple, yet so practical book case!
These are the supplies they bought to make this:
- 2 fir boards (1″x5″) 5 feet long -for the sides
- 5 fir boards (1″x4′) 3 feet long- these are the shelves, we wanted 5 but you could do more
- 5 (3/8″) dowels 36″ long- I think we got 4 footer and cut them down:)
- screws, wood filler, glue, sand paper and paint ( I used spray paint – a primer and a semi gloss white)
You can follow the instructions here on how to build this display bookcase from these simple supplies.
It looks easy and it is a great way to gain more organization around the home for an affordable price and a bit of effort!
