Want to know the “secret” formula for creating a dead skin zapping foot bath at home? If you can do this at home, you can avoid the expensive spa treatment and get ready for the spring and summer on a dime!
Well, in all honesty, this recipe is really no secret because it has been floating around all over the web for a few years. BUT… it uses quite odd ingredients that you probably have at home! Plain ol’ at-home-spa products probably will not produce the results that this frugal and effective foot bath recipe will accomplish!
So enough about me raving about the frugalness and ease and effectiveness, let’s get down to business and give ourselves a nice at home treatment! It is something that was worth giving a shot! It has incredible results!
How to Make Listerine and Vinegar Foot Bath:
- 1 Cup of Listerine
- 1 Cup of Vinegar
- 2 Cups of Warm water (I like mine VERY warm 🙂
After you mix these ingredients in a bowl, pan, basin or an official foot bath contraption, you will want to soak for at least 20-minutes! Once you have soaked, using a mild pumice stone or other tool, your dead skin should just peel right off. I can’t just “rub” it off with my hand – although some comes off this way, but having those cheap foot files or other tool means you take your dead skin removal to new heights than with other foot baths. The dead skin is removed very easily!
Ironically, we don’t use Listerine as a mouthwash. I prefer to make my own mouthwash with natural ingredients – that is healthier and cheaper. So I am often finding unconventional uses for these types of products. I also don’t buy traditional toothpaste, but find that these tubes of Colgate/Crest have awesome uses for many things – so I will grab them here and there when they go super cheap on a coupon sale, but stick with my natural and homemade toothpastes for my actual teeth. Conditioner (the cheapest of the cheap) makes for awesome shaving cream too – and it’s MUCH cheaper than shaving cream! These are small lessons I have learned from living a life of trying to be both frugal and healthy!
In addition to it being frugal, there are many other benefits to this particular foot bath:
- Your tired, sore feet get a refreshing, tingling, restorative sensation! It just feels really good! (especially if you use the blue Listerine!)
- Both the Listerine and vinegar kill bacteria and germs – you will get some pretty, spiffy clean feet!
- Because of the previous point, those with athlete’s foot, toe infections or other foot fungus/infections – this is the “killer” solution. 🙂
Well, that’s the easy, frugal solution from this gal born and raised in a super dry climate that struggles with nasty dry feet!
As a side point, a great homemade exfoliant and moisturizer is actually my homemade Eczema Cream! It works for more than just eczema!
Well, that’s a wrap on this frugal, effective solution. I would love to hear your thoughts on this and if you have tried this before?

The skull base is the bony part of the skull that is located at the back of the head. It carries most of the nerve supply from the brain and spinal cord to other parts of the body, such as muscles and glands. The skull base also contains blood vessels that carry oxygenated blood away from the brain. I would recommend this skull base anatomy to get best treatment about any problem in your skull. The skull base consists of three bones: two sphenoid bones, which connect to each other at their peaks; a parietal bone, which connects to the sphenoid bone; and a temporal bone, which connects to both sphenoid bones.
