Can you believe there’s just 13 weeks until Christmas? It’s true!
For years my Husband and I have always put away $40 every week into a separate Savings Account starting the end of September to save $500 for Christmas. This is pretty easy on our budget and we just tighten the spending up a bit more during these last few weeks of the year.
You see we have three children and it’s imperative that we save this year because it looks like I’m heading into surgery. Once the surgery takes place I’m going to be down for 16 weeks total, 6 weeks I can’t walk….at all. Needless to say I won’t be doing any in-store Black Friday shopping! So this weekend I’ll be doing my Christmas Planning.
You can start Christmas Planning this weekend too with this 17-Page Christmas Planner.
It has everything you need to get your holiday shopping planned out, stick to a budget and has a place for this “Wish List” for every family member. I love it because I can see what everyday prices are now on Amazon (where I generally shop!) and then when it comes close to Black Friday if the price is 40% off or more I’ll go ahead and purchase so that I’m saving a good bit of money.
Alright want to know you are going to save $500 for Christmas Shopping? Let me show you!
If you would like to have $500 saved up for Christmas Shopping you’ll need to be putting away $40 every week. If you start with this week (9/28) if you save $38.46 a week you will have $346.14 to spend for Black Friday with an additional $$153.85 for the week of Christmas.
Can you believe my 7 year old has already started jotting down what she would like? One is a sewing machine so I’ve got to do some research on that as I’m sure that’s going to be her expensive gift. If you have suggestions I would LOVE to hear them!
Also, be sure to leave a comment with items that you are seeking out and we will see if we can’t help you save at least 50% on them!
