Welcome to day #12 of the 30-day organization challenge – we are getting close to the half way point!
You may have seen today’s challenge coming already, so let’s just get right into it!
Day #12 Challenge – Organize the Rest of the Bathroom Drawers
Yep, total shocker, right?!? Well, after yesterday’s challenge of organizing the first half of the bathroom drawers, we are going to work on completing the task today. We are trying to break this down into small, manageable daily tasks. Although our drawers were pretty chaotic, it did not take long to complete the task. We hope you are finding the same.
The biggest step is just getting started. But once you start, progress is made quickly! Yesterday, I organized two of the six drawers we had, so today I organized four…. but the two were large and today’s are all very small.
I have always wondered what you do with these tiny drawers in a bathroom?!? They are not very practical, but they can sure collect a long of stuff.
Let’s get to it!
First up is the kids’ bathroom.

Second small bathroom before
Really, these drawers are not used for much of anything except a few needed personal care items that they kids share. Primarily hair things…… That’s always the story when you have 3 girls with long hair!
First drawer after
These are the very few other non-hair thingy items that they really use. No sense in jammin’ up the drawer with other stuff!
Second drawer after
I made this the hair drawer, but I only let a few hair things in the basket and the big clips, headbands, etc. are going to be in a different spot (you will see later on in the challenge).
Now for the main level half-bath, really just a small guest bath. What do you keep in the drawers? I can’t really think of a lot as it is literally a stop in room. But it is amazing that the drawers will eventually collect a little of everything bathroom related. I understand that it’s hard for all of us to put everything back where it goes and it is just easier to shove bathroom like items in there.

I guess I forgot to snap a before picture of the second drawer, but it basically looked like this – lip balms, lotions, hair things, kids’ jewelry and bandaids galore! I have a large first aid kit in this cupboard as it is in the central location and close to the outdoors. Well, my kids love bandaids and will find any excuse to use them! But instead of putting things back, they just shove them in the drawers!

Second bathroom drawer after
I did decide to make a second hair thing drawer down here because we often do hair downstairs on our way out the door. But after putting all of the bandaids back, it was quite a simple re-organize in both drawers. Like I said, what do you really put in drawers in a pop-in/pop-out bathroom used for guests?
How is your challenge going? What tips do you have for a more organized bathroom or bathroom drawers specifically?

Hey!!
Just wanted to let you know HOW MUCH I’VE ENJOYED THE 30DAY CHALLENGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told my husband I look forward to getting your email every morning to see what I have to do next!! I have a pantry and didn’t see what day that was on or if I missed it……did you have a day to organize the pantry?
Thanks!!!!!
Cassie
Hi Guylene,
We are so happy to hear that you are encouraged on this challenge. We are going to be dealing with the staple food and pantry towards the end as we try to encourage organized habits – like menu planning. I also needed a break from the kitchen and thought we could do this towards the end when we start with those habits. 🙂
