Earlier this week – I took the kids to the last $1.00 movie of the Summer. Target was close by and so I thought I would run in real quick. I did not have my trip planned as usual (usually go on Thursdays). But I had a couple of manufacturer’s coupons and all of my Target coupons with me – and we needed some produce since we did not go shopping at all last week so I just thought I would look to see what I could find! Most of it was produce and Target brand items.
With that in mind, here is what I came out with from a quick unplanned trip:
- 4 Juicy Juice 8-packs for $2.29 each = $9.16. Then used 2 $1.00/1 Target coupons and one $2/4 printable – $4.00 = final is $5.16 for 4 or $1.29 each
- 4 Organic Fruit Leather 10 ct. regularly $2.99 on sale for $2.00 each = $8.00. Then used 2 $1.00/2 Target coupons – $2.00 = final is $6.00 for 4 or $1.50 each.
- 2 natural fruit chews regularly $2.99 each on sale for $2.00 each = final is $4.00
- 1 Organic lettuce blend regularly $3.99 on sale for $2.79 = final is $2.79
- 1 pre-cut red, green and yellow peppers package regularly $3.99 on sale for $2.79 = final is $2.79 (We would not normally advocate buying pre-cut produce as it is usually marked up quite a bit, but each pepper individually was $1.50 each right now and so this ended up being much cheaper).
- 5 Apples and carmel kits 5-ct per pack regularly $3.99 each marked down to $1.25 each = final is $6.25
- 1 Dannon Activia sals for $1.66. Then used $1.00/1 8/8 Smart Source insert = final is .66
- Yoplait Splitz regularly $2.19 on sale for .99. Then used peelie for .50/1 = final is .49.
- 2 packages of stuffed hamburger patties regularly $5.99 each on sale for $2.00 each = final is $4.00
- 2 bunches of Kale regularly $1.29 each on sale for .65 each = final is $1.30.
- 3 lbs. bananas at .51 lb. = final is $1.50
- 1 Play-doh Ice Cream Shoppe sale for $9.00. Then used $5.00/1 = final is $4.00
Plus we also had 2 $1.00 Target produce coupons that were applied somewhere to the produce above 🙂
Grocery Summary: The total before sales and coupons was $83.94. The sale prices dropped the total to $42.28. We then used $14.50 in coupons – most of which was Target coupons. This made our final total $27.78 – a 67% savings!
We then had all of these awesome Target apparel coupons and so we headed to the clothing sections to see what we could find. Right now, they have many items marked down by 75% which is awesome when you have coupons too!
- 6 play dresses originally $14.99 on clearance for $3.74 each (and underwear not pictured 🙂 ) = $22.44 for dresses and $8.00 in underwear = $30.44. Then used $5/$20 clothing purchase Target mailer coupon = final is $25.44 – $8.00 in underwear = $17.44 for 6 dresses or $2.91 each
- 1 pair kids shorts regularly $21.99 on clearance for $6.98. Then used $2.00/1 kids denim Target coupon = final is $4.98
- 1 men’s polo shirt regularly $14.99 on clearance for $3.74. Then used $3.00/1 men’s shirt Target coupon = final is .74
- 1 woman’s Merona shirt regularly $11.99 on clearance for $2.48. Then used $2.00/1 women’s Merona top target coupon = final is .48
Clothing Summary: The original totals were $138.91 (minus the underwear). The clearance prices dropped the total to $35.64 (minus the underwear). We then used $12 in coupons which made our new total of $23.64 – a savings of 83%.
