Whirlwind Shopping Trips – 3 Stores In One Day!!

July 3 by Cassie 1 Comment

The kids and I went to 3 stores this week all in one day!! It was a bit of a crazy adventure, but they did very well, especially when you get them all involved! We have one day a wekk where we run our errands and do our shopping. It is called Economics Day! However, normally, we just hit 1-2 stores, but this week it was 3. We also bought a few extra things for our Friday BBQ party!

So here is the whirlwind day:

We started at Rite Aid as I wanted to cash in on cheap diapers and John Frieda hair care.

Here’s a picture of what we bought:

Here’s the breakdown:

  • 1 Crest toothpaste on sale for $2.99. Then used .50/1 PG 6/6 = $2.49. Then will receive a $2.99 Single Check Rebate back = final is .50 OVERAGE
  • 4 John Frieda products on sale for $5 = $20. Then used 4 $3/1 SS 6/6 – 12 = $8.00. Then received a $10 +UP Reward, so when considering this discount = final is $2.00 OVERAGE
  • 1 Secret Deodorant sale for $1.99. Then used .50/1 PG 6/6 = $1.49. Then received a $1.00 +UP Reward, so when considering this discount = final is .49
  • 1 Huggies diapers sale for $8.99. Then used 1 $3.00/1 = $5.99. Then will receive a $2.00 Single Check Rebate back = final is $3.99
  • 2 Lay’s chips sale for BOGO FREE = final is 2 for $3.99 or $1.98 each!

Rite Aid Summary: The total AFTER in-store sales, but BEFORE coupons was $37.96. We also used a $5/$25 purchase Rite Aid coupon. So between the store coupons, SCR, manufacturer’s coupons and +UP rewards, our additional discounts were $36.99, which made our final total .97 for all of the above!!

In the same shopping center, right next to Rite Aid, we have a Fresh Market which is part of the Associated Food Stores family.  This store opened nearly 1 year ago – but this was my third time in there – all 3 times in the last year have been to be able to stock-up on one of our favorite chicken brands: Gold N’ Plump for cheap! This week was the week to do that and it worked perfectly being right next door to Rite Aid.

Here’s a picture of what we bought there:

Here’s the breakdown:

  • 8 Gold N’ Plump drumsticks packages sale for $1.67 each = $13.36. Then used 8 $1/1 SS 6/20 – $8.00 = final is $5.36
  • 8 Solo plates sale for $2.00 = $16.00. Then used 8 $1/1 SS 6/20 – $8 = final is $8.00
  • 3 Better Cheddars sale for $1.67 each = $5.00
  • 2 Lay’s Chips on sale for BOGO FREE = final is $3.99 for 2 or $1.99 each
  • 2 Santitas tortilla chips on sale for $1.67 each = final is 3.34

Fresh Market Summary: The total AFTER the sale prices, but BEFORE coupons was $41.69. We then used $16 in coupons = final was $25.69!!

Finally, Economics day ended at Target!
