Walgreens Shopping Trip Results: Lots of FREE Formula and More

Walgreens was one place that we shopped at this week! On one of the end caps, they had some great baby clearances including formula and Pull-ups.  Since I had a baby recently, I had quite a few formula checks with me and was able to get the formula for FREE to donate to a pregnancy crisis center.

Here’s the results of that shopping trip.

  • 3 Cottonelle 12-pack rolls sale for $5 = $15. Then used $$1.00 from August Walgreens coupon book – $3 = $12.00. Then used three .75/1 8/14 SS Insert – $2.25 = final is $9.75 for three packs or $3.25 each
  • 1 ReNew Life Omeag Smart Super Krill Oil Supplements sale for $10.  Then received a $10 register reward (Walgreens cash) = final is FREE
  • 1 Huggies Slip-On diapers sale for $9.49. Then used $3.00/1 8/14 Smart Source insert = $6.49. Then received a $2 register reward (Walgreens cash) = final is $4.49
  • 1 Huggies Pull-ups jumbo pack on clearance for $5.99. Then used $2.00/1 Pull-ups printable = final is $3.99
  • 6 packs Trident gum sale for .79 each with in-ad coupon = $4.74. Then used two $2/3 from the 7/24 SS Insert – $4 = final is .74 for 6 or .12 each
  • 4 Skinny Cow dream clusters candy sale for .89 = $3.56. Then used two BOGO coupons 7/31 Red Plum insert = final is $1.78 for 4 or .45 each
  • $22.17 worth of clearance formula (5 at $2.49 and 3 at $3.24 = $22.17. Then used $27.50 worth of formula checks and $2.00 off Similac coupon from mailer = final is $7.30 OVERAGE

Summary: Our total AFTER Walgreens sale and BEFORE coupons was $70.95.  We then used $45.53 in coupons and formula check which made our out of pocket total $25.42.  We then receive $12 in Register Rewards = final is $13.42 for all of the above! Essentially, we got everything for the price of the toilet paper!

Keep yours eyes out for Formula clearances and be sure to have your coupons/checks ready!

      Hi Cathy,

They are the coupons that come in the mail (the new moms are usually flooded with them;)) and they look like a check and the store runs them as checks. You can visit all of the formula sites, parent sites, etc. and after signing up/registering you will get on mailing lists to receive these checks. They are usually pretty high value and average around $4 – $5 each check. Although you can’t use coupons at Sam’s Club, they will take these formula checks (as they are a check to the store from the formula company) because they run them as checks. Hope that helps, but let me know if you need more clarification.
