My tip for Valentines is to keep it simple. You dont need to spend money to make it romantic. Dinner at home with a massage is the best present ever!

Would love to win this…husband is an Itunes addict, but we don’t budget more than $5/month on it.
For Valentines’ Day we will use our Restaurant.com gift certificate at a nice local restaurant by Lido Beach, FL…then watch the sunset on the beach which is a 5 minute walk from the restaurant!

We have to young children, so we take some quiet time to ourselves once they go to bed. It is so hard to find that time together.

After our little one goes to bed, my hubby and I have a little romantic dinner just the two of us on Valentines day. We pick out whatever it is we want to eat, light a few candles and have a glass or two of wine and just enjoy ourselves. All in the comfort of our dining room 🙂

Try to keep in mind the thought behind a gift, and not how much you spend on it.

My husband and I save our gift cards from Christmas and take the Saturday closest to Valentine’s Day and treat ourselves to a lavish date. Now that our kids are teens we don’t have to fork out for babysitters so we enjoy the day on someone else’s dime. This year we have Outback Steak House, Regal Cinemas and Barnes & Noble gift cards to burn through.

One year i made a small photo album of me and my husband, I started from old photos and worked my way up to recent years. It was so fun to look how we had changed through life. We really laughed so hard! I also helped my kids do the same for him but they used their photos of just them with their Dad… He said it was the best gift he had ever gotton, He loved Them.

We just go to dinner with no kids. That is just the best! Nothing fancy, just no babies is relaxing every so often.

My thrifty Valentine’s idea is to give homemade gifts that have a deep meaning.

I fix a great meal, a romantic setting with candles and music! We enjoy that more than going out to the busy restaurants! Thanks for the great giveaways!

I decorate the table in red with hearts/candy and we have little metal mailboxes for each family member that we put out on 2/1 and leave notes and small candy for each other.

Our thrifty Valentines tip is “get me what I need” 😉 For example, as a homeschooling mom, I asked for dry erase markers. And we have a new home (1 year old) but we have no flower beds, so I also asked for dirt (things have to be leveled off)! Not very romantic, but I really want both things and we need them, so…
