To make a cheap card for my husband, I’m using shutterfly, and making him a card w/ our kids pictures and using their promo for a free card (CARD4U). It cost me $.99 in shipping, but I can’t drive to Hallmark and buy a card for that! And this one will be special b/c it has our kids’ pictures on it.

We stay at home on Valentine’s Day and have a fun dinner! But either the week before or the next week we have a date night. It is just a lot easier to find a babysitter and place to eat NOT on Valentine’s Day:)

We will grill out, and possibly bake brownies… or get some fresh fruit. When sales were great at Christmas I bought extra games, puzzles, blankets and dvds. No fancy chocolates or knick knacks or stuffed animals… we do not need more junky stuff. π

I have a stash of valentines, bought from previous years for about 10 cents each. The kids just go choose from the stack.
My husband has always cooked us a wonderful meal, the restaurants are WAY to busy to fight for a spot anyway.

For Valentine’s Day I have always cooked a nice meal at home. Since my divorce I carry on the tradition with my daughter. I make shrimp in a tomato sauce and serve it over rice. We look forward to our time and special dinner together.
