Earlier this year, we went down to Southern California for a business trip! We had an extra day and decided to go to Universal Studios Hollywood for the day. It was a fun day!
While we were there, we noticed the front and center construction of the Harry Potter land that was being built and snapped a few pictures for you. If you are a Harry Potter fan, you probably already know that it opens April 7th.
But what you may not have known is that Universal Studios greatly increased their ticket prices on February 5th, 2016.
However, we have a source that we have used for years for all of our Southern California travels that consistently gives the lowest prices always, and in fact has a price guarantee (matching or beating any lower prices you find).
So, our source is GetAwayToday and although they will always have the lowest prices (we dare you to compare), they actually have an even better deal right now – you can get $28 off Universal Studios Prices. Yes, you can get a great deal on tickets, but you have to secure by April 4th, 2016 for a future travel date.
If you plan to go to Southern California for the opening of Harry Potter or the other fun movie-themed attractions sometime in the future, then we suggest securing your ticket prices now and save big time!
You will save $28 per ticket until April 4th, 2016!
PLUS, you can use the coupon code: ThriftyCouple10 to get $10 off packages too!
So head to the Get Away Today site HERE and use coupon code:
ThriftyCouple10
By the way – Get Away Today has a “best price” guarantee – which means that if you find a better price (other than a special circumstance like the one mentioned above), they will not only match it but BEAT IT! YAY!
So while we are on the topic, we will share a few pictures from our one-day quick stop!
First off, we went in January of 2016, right when El Nino was hitting. You see, we are from the Rocky Mountain Northwest. We live in the cold for a really good chunk of the year! It is the end of March and we woke up to a few inches of new snow and I have been writing the posts today, looking out the window watching the snow continue to fall and accumulate.
So, when we had the opportunity to hop down to So. Cal in January, we were excited for WARM weather. We did not pack warm clothes. It was decently nice (60-70) when we were there for business, but the ONE day in this quick trip we decided to do something fun, it was freezing cold. I think it was 41 degrees. So our pictures are not great because we were freezing, but you can enjoy them anyway. 🙂
We met Lucille Ball! Our family loves to watch I Love Lucy. It’s free on Amazon Prime right now. 🙂
The set of Who-Ville from Dr. Seuss movie How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
The Ocean Set from King Kong as they are approaching Skull Island. It’s actually quite small. It was just all about how they shot the scenes for the large perspective. The island was about as tall as a standard fence and the boat even smaller!
The actual, real, famous Gyrosphere from Jurassic World!
One of our highlights was the Animal Actor’s show and then being able to meet some of the real, famous animals from the movies. Here our daughter is petting the “daddy dog” from Santa Paws. He is so sweet, smart and soft.
That’s a few highlights from our quick trip! It was a nice, although freezing, little pit stop. There’s so much more to see and do than what we were able to do, and as you know, we are not going to let you pay full-price!
