There’s an event that we look forward to each and every year – Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-Fil-A. It means with just a teeny bit of effort (trust me, a teeny bit of effort as you will see from last year’s pictures) you can get some yummy free food!
My kids mostly look forward to this day. They LOVE the food, but some are not thrilled to dress like a cow.
Dress like a cow in any fashion and receive a free entree’. It’s a great value for each person! We don’t get to go to Chick-Fil-A often as there are rarely coupons and they are a bit pricey, so this is a real treat!
Some have been known to go to Chick-Fil-A from breakfast, lunch and dinner. I am not that committed, but we do enjoy one meal on this day.
Warning, it is busy. Very busy. So don’t plan on a fast lunch.
You can find all of the details on the Chick-Fil-A site, including some cow ears, noses and more to print, cut out and wear.
We basically dress in black pants and white shirts and cut out not-so-perfect round spots and pin on our shirts. We also attached cow ears to headbands and noses to the glasses. The noses and ears were printed from the Chick-Fil-A website. To add to the funny attire, my printer was running out of ink. So we really had funny costumes last year – as you can see.
Our second daughter was very unimpressed with the costumes from last year, but I didn’t want to spend a lot for free food – I only spent a little in printing cow ears and noses.
We used black construction paper for the spots. This year, I am going to use all black construction paper as there is no reason to print out anything and save that money too!
Here are some more ideas for the Thrifty costume:
- Just paint your face – or your nose
- Make cow ears (using a headband and construction paper) and tail (with a white sock and black yarn).
- Wear a white shirt and black pants or vice versa (add spots of opposite color too)!
Dress the whole family and each of you get a FREE entree’! And that second daughter of ours was happy after getting her food and said it was worth it!
If you have ideas on how to make a cow costume for FREE or really, really cheap – please share your ideas and pictures!
To get your FREE meal, put on your cow costume on July 12th and head to your local Chick-Fil-A to snag your FREE Chick-Fil-A entree!
