I went to Target today to grab those last day of the sale shopping. The best part was that I started a new workout routine and my shoes were not providing the support I needed. So I told Cassie earlier in the week that the cheaper way for me to solve this problem was to get those expensive Dr. Scholl’s inserts instead of getting new athletic shoes. Even better was that there happened to be a super awesome Target deal on them this week. I only mention the significance of this as it is rarely that we need something so badly that we will plan to get it even if there isn’t a deal. So when the “we need this really badly” and the”rock bottom deal” land on the same week, it is like a couponer’s ultimate treasure 🙂
So since I was going to Target for my “suddenly not-so-expensive” Dr. Scholl’s inserts, I decided to pick up the other great deals we talked about here on our site. So between this and our $9 Walmart shopping trip earlier this week, we came well under budget! We had quite a few produce items left from last week as that was pretty much all we bought last week.
Here’s what I got:
- 1 50oz. bag of frozen mixed berries normally $11.99 on sale for $9.99. Used $1.00/1 Target printable coupon = final is $8.99
- 1 Pasta Prima Butternut Squash Fresh Ravioli sale for $4.59. Then used FREE coupon from previous promotion (we ended up being one of the 5K to get a free coupon) = final is FREE
- 1 Skim Milk sale for $2.39. Then use the .75/1 printable coupon = final is $1.64
- 1 Up&Up Soap Pump sale for .99. Then used the .50/1 Target printable coupon = final is .49
- 2 kids Aquafresh toothpastes normally $2.29 on sale for $1.89. See the details on the previous post HERE on how to get for free = final is two for FREE
- 1 Morningstar Veggie Breakfast Patties (Cassie INSISTS on using these in our healthier homemade McMuffin sandwhiches instead of real sausage patties :)) normally $3.69 on sale for $2.99. Then used the $1.00/1 printable coupon = final is $1.99
- 2 16oz. bags of Target brand shredded cheese sale for $2.39 each. Then used $1.00/2 printable Target coupon = final is $3.78 for two or $1.89 each
- 2 Simply Natural GoGurt (these are great frozen!) normally $2.54 each on sale for $2.00 each = $4.00. Then used .75/2 manufacturer’s coupon stacked with a .75/2 Target coupon – $1.50 = final is $2.50 for two or $1.25 each
- 1 Dr. Scholls for $8.84 and one for $10.49 =$19.33. Then used two $3.00/1 manufacter’s coupons from the 5/6 Smart Source Newspaper Insert and two $3.00/1 Target store coupons – $6 total = $13.33. Then received a $5 Target gift card for in-store Dr. Scholl’s promo = final is $8.33 for two or $4.16 each. (the gift card deal is over now, but the coupons are still good to get the $13.33 price for two this next week).
SUMMARY: The total was $52.84 AFTER considering the Target in-store sales, but BEFORE coupons. I then used $20.12 in coupons and received a $5 gift card back to use like cash at Target, so this was a total of $25.12 in discounts = final total was $27.72 for all of the above. With using just coupons, we saved 48% over Target’s sale prices this week. Our receipt indicates that we had $69.69 worth of items, so the total savings (the sales prices and coupons combined) we saved 60% total.
