Have you heard of Take Command Health to compare health care plans?
With open enrollment in effect, it’s time to see if you can find the BEST health care plan in your situation. We want to share what we discovered to make open enrollment and slick and smooth process, while saving money!
We found an amazing new tool online that could totally revolutionize your healthcare costs. It really doesn’t matter what side of the spectrum you fall in terms of your thoughts on our current medical care system, but what we are all united on is saving big time money, while getting the coverage we actually need for our families, nothing more and nothing less.
This is an important tool for individuals and families today because 88% of people choose the wrong health care coverage plan and are either underinsured paying too much for something that will not be as helpful, or they are over insured and paying too much for services they don’t need. But by using Take Command Health to compare health care plans, the average household saves $500 a year on health insurance!
There are dozens and dozens of healthcare coverage options.
Wouldn’t it be a dream to your time, your budget and your health to be able to quickly view ALL of your options with everything from the Affordable Healthcare Act to medical sharing options?
If you had the ability to plugin your needs, family size, budget, health concerns, etc. and have a tool that showed you all of your best options compared side-by-side, how amazing would that make your life?
Guess what?!? It’s not just a dream anymore. Since open enrollment began earlier this month, we have been on the hunt to save money while providing the BEST options for our family in the area of healthcare. There is no reason why you cannot find exactly what you need, most of the time saving money. We have to stop with the ideas that we can’t shop around for everything because you actually can.
But it is a massive chore! And none of us want to be without options, so we often mindlessly, or even with some thought, sign-up for the most relatable option at that time. But by doing this, 88% of people chose the WRONG coverage and OVERPAY for it!
In fact, reading articles on this topic where 88% of people chose an option that is not in their family’s best health and financial interest, also lead us to the fact that the average household overpays for coverage by $500 a year!
$500 A YEAR!
We don’t know about you, but this is HUGE. $500 a month is roughly $42 a month.
- If you had $42 extra $$ per month, you can be very close to meeting your 2% cut each month! Just this one trick could help tremendously!
- $42 extra per month towards debt payoff means paying a dramatic difference less in interest and cutting off the time to pay it off!
- $42 a month more investing could mean you could retire a little sooner!
This is one of those categories that is like utilities. So many people just “pay the bill” not realizing that they have other options to save.
Or in this case, you may realize you have many options at your disposal, but the process to cut through all of the fine print is daunting and exhausting and doesn’t necessarily mean that you are any more clear on your options than you were before you started that process.
You need an expert to sit right there and work through it all. But of course, experts cost money, thus we just do the best we can.
But this is where our journey as The Thrifty Couple never ends. We mean it literally never ends!
We learn more and more each and every month. We learn some things that are little tweaks and then we learn epic things like this.
We share the tweaks with you often, but we feel obligated to tell you the epic things, especially when it is something that not only helps the budget in a BIG way, but is something important to basic human life – healthcare.
You certainly don’t want to be short-changed coverage, but you also don’t want to overpay for the right coverage or pay for the wrong coverage all together.
That’s why we want to share with you about a new website we discovered as we are looking for healthcare options for us again this year. This website is Take Command Health HERE and they walk you through the process of finding the best healthcare coverage by asking you a series of questions.
It’s very quick and the questions are basic like “how many people and ages of the people in your household,” to “are you a smoker?” There is also a place to put in your doctors’ names and prescription names so they can try to compare the coverage of all available plans in your area to cover your current health care needs too so you can see them all in one place. It walks you through like a turbo tax.
We went through the comparison process with the Take Command Health site and it was very quick!
You start with your zipcode and then they will go through a few basic questions to be able to compare all of the applicable health care plans for your situation. Don’t worry, you are not sharing full names, SSN, or anything to that effect in the comparison process. If you find a plan that you want, in order to complete coverage, you will need to provide some of this information, but for searches and plan comparisons, you do not.
Besides first name, age and whether you are a smoker or not, one of the questions gets your gross annual household income number so that they can determine if you are eligible for tax credits and to help find plans that are cost efficient for your tax bracket.
They will also find plans that include your current doctors and medicines as some doctors are part of some networks and not a part of others.
Once you answer the few basic questions, which will take about 5 minutes, they will start the process of paring down the plans available for your situation so you can easily compare them.
You will see the above screen for a few seconds. Then the site will load the results of your health care plans search and show you the options.
Here are some of those options when we put in a sample query.
It will show major medical plans, short-term, health care sharing and any other applicable plans. Then you can find out exactly what you need and make an educated decision!
Here’s the bad news about Take Command Health
This is a new service. That means that they do not have every zipcode yet available to compare plans. It is an ongoing process for them to add more and more areas. This means that they may not be available yet in your area. But we couldn’t wait until this was available for the whole country before sharing because we had to get the news out sooner in hopes that it helps many of you this year.
However, Here’s the Good News about Take Command Health
They also offer a few other services under a membership, which can greatly reduce your overall healthcare costs. The membership is $15 a month for an individual or $25 a month for a family of any size.
This is an AMAZING tool and resource!
Here are some of the things offered on the Take Command Health Membership
- The call a doctor 24/7 is one of the biggest benefits. I know how valuable the 24/7 doctor calls 24/7 can be. We had a similar service with a medical facility in our area, but we had to pay $25 a month for this one benefit for this one facility.
- Dental discounts
- Vision discounts
- Pharmacy discounts
- The medical bill negotiation is a nice feature because it is not a fun thing to do. This is something you can do yourself because we have done it multiple times, but I would be curious to know if they can negotiate even more than an individual can. However, it’s also an unpleasant task to have to deal with, so if they do, that’s awesome!
So it looks like anyone anywhere in the country can take advantage of the membership!
With all of this information, we hope that you can find the right plan for you and your family. We hope this process will not only help you find the coverage you need, but save a bunch of money too.

I myself have faced situations when my relatives were not sufficiently insured, or they are overly insured and pay too much for services that they do not need. I hope that this program will be able to help you correctly calculate your expenses for medicine and manage this situation. https://cannovia.com/product-category/cbd-for-energy/

You are right, this is a good option to start taking care of your health. Almost all medicines or big problems can be expensive. I bought peptide bpc 157 and many other drugs for myself not so long ago, and it turned out to be a lot of money
