We have to be honest and perhaps will be hated by you for saying this… but somehow both of us grew up in the late 70’s and 80’s and never really became big fans of or really ever watched Star Wars. I know… it’s a total shock. We are probably like the only two people on the planet that have seen it in bits and segments and never really cared.
Well, in the past year, our three oldest children had begged us to watch them and then became big fans of Star Wars. It’s really out of character for being our kids. We are not sure how or who told them about it – but probably between their friends, the popular Star Wars Legos (because Legos are a huge hit here) and our culture infiltrated with it just somehow made them want to see it. Now that we have actually seen entire episodes at one time, it’s actually pretty fun. We can’t say it’s still our style, but we have enjoyed watching them with the older kids.
So, the toys lately have been light sabers and more Star Wars gear – not to mention Star Wars pjs. For the first time ever – May 4th actually means something around here – you know – “May the 4th Be With You” Day.
In search of some fun ways to enjoy May 4th, we found a round up of fun kids crafts. I can tell you that we will be making some of these since they are frugal, fun and using a lot of supplies around the house. I am sure the lightsaber crafts will be the most popular around here. 🙂
Here’s a link to the round up of ideas from I Heart Arts N Crafts site! Enjoy and May the 4th Be With You! 😉
