SMITHS AND KROGER MEGA EVENT SALE! SAVED 65%

We had another great shopping trip to Smiths on the second week of the Mega Event Sale! This time, it was a quick trip with my shopping buddy – my 3-year old son! I normally take the girls, but they were engrossed in doll playtime, a much more important work for a 5 and 6 year old! However, my son was soooo excited that it was just going to be him and mom at the store.  He is turning into quite a little helper! So darn cute!

So we finished with a VERY full cart, trying to keep things from falling off the cart! 11 of the items were FREE!

We spent $56.19 and here is what we bought:

• 1 Gallon Milk sale for $2.00 each = final is $2.00
• 1 1/2 gallon Chocolate Milk for $1.99. Then used FREE Chocolate Milk coupon = final is FREE!
• 9.5 lbs. of bananas for .56  lb. = final is $5.26
• 8 Avocados at .50 each = final is $4.00
• 2 Dozed Egglands Best Organic Brown eggs $2.99 each = $5.98. Then used .50/1 SS 11/1 = $5.48. Then used BOGO FREE eggs coupon, maximum value of $1.50 = final is $3.98 for 2 or $1.99 each!
  
• 6 Softsoap sale for .88 = $ 5.28. Then used 6 .35/1 – $2.10 SS 1/31 = final is $3.18 for 6 or
• 2 Oreo Cakesters sale for $3.59 = $7.18. Then used 2 coupons for FREE Cakesters with purchase of Oreo Cookies = 2 Cakesters for FREE! I found this at the store on an end cap – there was a display of the Cakesters with coupons to get them for FREE for each package of Oreos purchased. This was perfect as my Oreos were FREE too! The 2 sets of coupons offset each other which makes for 4 FREE packs of cookies (see next post)!

• 2 Golden Oreo cookies sale for $3.19 = $6.38. Then used 2 FREE Oreo coupons = 2 Oreos for FREE!
• 2 Hillshire Farms Lil’ Smokies sale for $2.49 = final is $4.98.
  
• 1 Hillshire Farms Cheddarwurst sale for $2.50. Special promotion: if you bought 2 Lil’ Smokies, get Cheddarwurst dogs (many varieties) for FREE = final is FREE!
  
• 2 Clorox bleach sale for $1.99 = $3.98. Then used .50/2 = final is $3.48 for 2 or $1.74 each!

The Mega Event sale is a sale where every group of 10 items you purchased received an additional $5 off! This is an additional .50 off each item! The following 100 items were from this mega event sale and we received an additional .50 off each item!

• 4 Arrowhead water 24 packs sale for $3.49 = $13.96 – $2.00 = $11.96.  Then used 2 FREE Arrowhead 6-pack with purchase of 2 (they were out of the Arrowhead 6-packs, so they substituted with 2 Kroger 6 packs of water) = final is $11.96 PLUS 2 FREE 6-packs PLUS $5 back to spend on future trip. Details on this deal in a previous post.
• 4 Kraft Deluxe Macaroni and Cheese sale for $1.69= $6.76 – $2.00 = $4.76. Then 2 used $1/2 -$2.00 = final is $2.76 for 4 or .69 each!
• 3 Kraft Cheese (8 oz. blocks and Shredded) for $1.99 each = $5.97 – $1.50 = $4.47. Then used 1 $1/2 = $3.47, then Kroger coupon for .45/1 ANY cheese (mailed to me with my rewards certificate) = final is $3.02 or $1.00 each!
  
• 1 I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter sale for$1.49 – .50 = .99. Then used .50/1 RP 1/31 = final is.49!
• 4 Armour Meatballs sale for $2.49 = $9.96 – $2.00 = $7.96. Then used 4 .55/1 SS 1/24 – $2.20 = final is $5.76 for 4 or $1.44 each!
• 3 Dreyers Ice Cream (Yay for Girl Scout Thin Mint flavor!) sale for $2.99 = $8.97 – $1.50 = $7.47. Then used 3 $1/1 SS 1/31 = final is $4.47 for 3 or $1.49 each!
• 4 Pepperidge Farms Goldfish crackers sale for $1.38 = $5.52 – $2.00 = $3.52. Then used 2 .75/1 – $1.50 = final is $2.02 for 4 or about .50 each!
• 2 Keebler Cheesecake middles sale for $1.49 = $2.98 – $1.00 = $1.98. Then used 2 $1/1 (FF HERE) = final is .02 OVERAGE!
• 5 Nabisco Crackers sale for $2.19 = $10.95 – $2.50 = $8.45. Then used 1 $1/1 SS 1/24 and 2 $2/2 printable = final is $3.45 for 5 or .69 each!

Summary: The original total was $160.15! We then saved $70.66 on the sale prices ($30 of this being the Mega Event discount – details above!). This brought our total to $89.49. We then used $33.30 in coupon!!! Our new total is $56.19!  This is a 65% Savings!!!!!
