free groceries delivered safeway

Here is an amazing deal that was sent over to us by our friend Melissa from the Sassy Saver.  Safeway and affiliate stores will deliver groceries to your door when you shop the online grocery store.

Even better is that you can shop the sales and use online coupon codes for some pretty amazing grocery deals.  This deal works for anyone living in the Safeway or Affiliate Stores delivery areas.  There are quite a few areas where they will deliver to across the country – you will need to enter your zipcode to find your closest store.  For those that do not live near a Safeway or affiliate, this could be a really good idea to still do and have it delivered to a local food bank!

When you are shopping on the Safeway and affiliate sites, just shop the buy one get one FREE sales.  There is also a coupon code for $15 off and FREE delivery for first time orders.

The best thing to do is to shop using the Shop At Home cash back rebate site.  They will send you a rebate check of $12 with your first order. Again – this is great for those not living near a Safeway to send to a food bank in the local delivery area and make money doing it!

For an idea of how to get $50.30 in groceries for $2.15, order the following:

  • First, go to Shop At Home so that you can get your $12 back in a rebate check later.
  • Click through to the Safeway site and order the following items:
  • 2 Oroweat Whole Wheat Breads $4.99 each
  • 2 Blue Ribbon Long Grain Rice $5.09 each
  • 2 Hillshire Farms Smoked Sausage $4.79 each
  • 2 Jimmy Dean Turkey Links cooked $5.49 each
  • 2 Thomas New York Style Bagels $4.79 each

Your total will be $50.30

  • Enter the code CJSAVINGS at checkout and get $15 off and free delivery for first time orders = $35.50
  • The total wont be charged to your card until you receive your items, at this time the BOGO sales will also be applied.
  • That makes your total $10.15 (this is what your receipt will say when they deliver your groceries). This is also what you will pay out of pocket before your rebate check from Shop At Home arrives.
  • Then you will receive your rebate check of $12 = $1.85 Money Maker!
  • Plus if you are new to Shop At Home, they will include a $5 bonus in your check!

Thanks The Sassy Saver

according to the safeway website, the price you will be charged for your groceries will be the price they are when they go thru the register prior to delivery, not the price they are/were when they were chosen online, so the prices could be higher or lower, so not sure how that applies to bogo items? if the sale ends before the groceries are delivered, you would not get them bogo I think, so I am hesitant to try this out

I went through and picked the BOGO offers that were valid through 12/25 (assuming delivery would be before that day). My total was $51.30 (before BOGO), but at the very end, there is a statement that says if your “final receipt” total is lower than $50, your groceries will NOT be delivered, and you will be notified via e-mail. I was just wondering if anyone has actually tried this or not. I’m wondering if Safeway caught on and adjusted their policy. I really want to try it, but I don’t want to be stuck paying even $36.30 (after the $15 off and Free delivery) for the (6) items in my cart. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
