We really love our rewards cards for different companies but especially our OfficeMax MaxPerks Rewards! If you remember we’ve shared with you different deals such as how to get laptop backpacks and paper for FREE or Sharpies and Paper Mate pens for FREE (just a couple of examples) to build up your rewards points that you can then spend as cash. Well we wanted to share with you an example of how to maximize those rewards.
This week, OfficeMax had their HP ink for 20% off when you buy two (sale ends today). Here’s the scenario we used to purchase all of this ink for FREE, cheap, or FREE depending on how you calculate it!
- Purchased 13 color inks normally priced at $14.29 – 20% OFF makes them $11.43 ea
- Purchased 1 black ink normally priced at $30.99 – 20% OFF made it $24.79 ea
- Total price after discount: $173.41
But we didn’t want to stop there, we were then able to use both a $10 OFF and $15 OFF coupons (that we receive in the mail because we are MaxPerks rewards members) to bring our total down to $148.41 which we were able to purchase using our rewards with our MaxPerks Rewards card.
However, we don’t want to stop there. On top of those savings, OfficeMax offers you $3 per cartridge back on your OfficeMax Perks card when you bring them back to recycle them. Thus, when we bring back our 14 cartridges we will get an additional $42 back making the final price of the cartridges $106.41 or $7.60 each which is 49% OFF the retail price.
But if you count those MaxPerks rewards that we’ve been storing up, our grand total was really FREE as we spent nothing out of pocket this week to purchase them! Just because you earn the MaxPerks rewards doesn’t mean you have to turn around and buy something for full retail price – make sure you maximize your rewards by combining them with sales, discount cards mailed to you (because you have MaxPerks rewards), and in store discounts.
We love getting a discount on those products like paper and ink that we turn around and use to print of coupons to save that much more money!
