It’s here! The London Olympics Summer Games for 2012. It only rolls around once every 4 years you know! Thinking about that makes me realize how old each of our kids will be the next time it rolls around.
Last time, we only had three kids and our oldest was 4. Alex and I enjoyed watching them and especially Michael Phelps record breaking wins!
So this time around, we have 5 kids and our oldest is 8. We really think that the older three (the 8,7, and 6 year old – yes, you read those ages correctly ;)) Are going to have loads of fun watching!
We also live in the heart of where the Winter Games of 2002 took place and lots of historic sites related to those games and so it is fun to bring it full circle with the summer games in teaching our children about these ancient historic events.
But, the Olympics are not only a great time for learning, but also fun and cheap (or rather FREE) family entertainment!
So we were just going to do our own thing (as we will still do many of our own fun learning games and activities too) but we spotted this really fun looking Family Fun Pack from “What’s In the Bible” for the London Olympics 2012 with games activities, and more for the next two weeks!
This is a FREE 13-page download and I know that it is going to add some extra fun for our family!

So only 2-more hours to go at the time of this post:
See the Official London Olympics 2012 Schedule and events HERE.
So how are you watching, cheering and learning during the Olympics this year?
And if you know of more games, activities and fun ways to participate this year, leave a comment or link below for us all to enjoy!

I downloaded and printed this off the other day and it looks great! There’s also a bunch of fun crafts/activities, mostly for the under 5 crowd, along with a free e-book for subscribers, at http://www.icanteachmychild.com/category/thematic-units/olympics/
