I just love the holiday season – including Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year! And one of our favorite things about this season is the excuse to spend with family – especially when many of our family members are able to take vacation days dedicated to this exact thing.
Amazing family memories are created during this season! It was the same when I was a child with my family, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles and it is the same for me as an adult now. I have scrapbooks devoted to just the holiday season.
Well, what’s especially nice about this day and age is the ease in staying in touch with the use of smartphones. We have one from Total Wireless.
This year, my family gathered for a Thanksgiving feast down south where my grandmother lives. It was the first time that our family, my sister’s family, my brother’s family and my parents have all been able to gather at once since all of us kids have gotten married and had children.
It was an amazing time!
One of the most fun parts of the trip was the road trip down. With my sister (and her family) and parents living so close we all followed the same path down to my grandma’s house – all leaving our homes at different times. But the magical part of the travels was being able snap pictures with our phones, sending them to our family members while trying to get them to guess where we were in the trip. My sister’s family was really shocked when the picture I sent her was the back of their car – with added comment that we were following some idiot driver – sibling rivalry at its finest!
Once we arrived at our destination, we were pretty much isolated out in the middle of nowhere – which was exactly what we all needed! But with the affordable, no-contract, pay-as-you-go phones from Total Wireless that are also part of America’s Most Reliable Network without the high costs we were able to communicate – again in the middle of nowhere.
Our cabins didn’t have phones, but we found that we could connect anywhere in the desert. Once we arrived, we gave the kids their cellphone while they hung out with their cousins. We didn’t have to worry about them as they played at the playground, the clubhouse, or anywhere on the grounds while easily texting or calling with their latest status and location – giving us the sense of security that only real-time communication can provide.
At night, we even turned one cabin into the kids’ stomping ground and the adults in the other – keeping in touch with our phones (although just next door to one another) while we all hung out and enjoyed ourselves.
But one of the BEST parts about having this affordable cellphone from Total Wireless is that we experienced no stress in handing over the phone to our kids over the Thanksgiving vacation. This is nothing like we’ve experience in the past – having an expensive phone break (great job, Alex!) from being dropped with the BEST option being the cheap $170 phone as we were in the middle of the contract. Thankfully this time we could breathe a sigh of relief as the worse-case scenario with this phone would be a replacement phone for just $30.
I’ve never had this freedom with cell phones before!
Finally, I love that even this super affordable smartphone has all of the features of a pricey phone, while allowing us to send pictures to friends and family, text and talk on America’s Most Reliable Network and hand it off to the kids without worry.
I have appreciated this plan from Total Wireless more and more throughout this year, and especially during the holiday season. It really is the total plan and the total way to go for cell phones – it has provided everything we need and nothing that we don’t. It’s just another easy way to simplify and cut back during one of the busiest and most expensive times of the year!
