Today, I am sharing my How To Digitally Keep Artwork and Schoolwork: Keepy App Review?
There are so many apps out there, some are worth it, some are not. Some are free, some are not. As we venture more into the mobile world, we want to share our thoughts with our readers on what apps are out there that are worth it.
Before I begin, I need to admit I have a problem. I am a sentimental mom. I keep everything my kids make.
That really is ironic since we talk about keeping stuff at a minimum, staying organized, and being intentional about every aspect of life. I suppose I could argue that I was “being intentional” by intentionally keeping all of my kids’ artwork and projects. π
Seriously though. I am a scrapbooker. That is my hobby. So I keep everything with the intention of getting it into a scrapbook of some sort in the future.
But there are a few problems with my “intention.” First, we have six kids. Six kids with creative, inventive minds that are creating stuff all day!
The second problem is that it is not realistic to put all of this stuff in scrapbooks because it will fill a library (and be quite expensive to boot).
I had started taking pictures and saving the pictures to print and put into the scrapbooks. But even this was becoming a little daunting, difficult and quickly unorganized with many pictures of, well, pictures my kids had made.
Then I discovered the Keepy App.
I have to say…I am in love with it! It then helps me to stay truer to my word of “minimal, organized, and intentional living.”
Why is the Keepy App better than just snapping pictures of the artwork?
The Keepy App is a whole new level of keeping your kids’ memories and artwork – it doesn’t just merely snap a picture.
Here’s How To Digitally Keep Artwork and Schoolwork: Keepy App Review
There are things this app can do that cannot be easily done with taking pictures.
- You can assign the project to a child. Previously, I would have to “remember” whose artwork it was when I took the picture and/or printed the picture for the scrapbook. Since I can only sit down to scrapbook a few times a year, it is easy to forget who did what!
- You can also “record” a little blurb, story or explanation of the project. How cool is that! I get to verbally share my thoughts, love and excitement by voice for my kids to hear, for our family to share in and for my own memories.
- You can also video record. If you have a “moving project” like a recent water-bottle octopus my daughter made, I can record it and share my thoughts on video. A picture doesn’t merely do this cute project justice (as you can see from the underwhelming photo).
- I can share it immediately with our selected circle of extended family members like grandparents and aunts/uncles.
- The projects are also backed up, secure and accessible even if I lose my phone or change phones. Keepy as a secure cloud backup. You can also send your saved projects to Dropbox as an additional level of “Keepy.”
- You can even import your Facebook memories. Since many people use Facebook as a type of online scrapbook, you can incorporate this into the Keepy App.
- It is very user friendly. I do not personally have a lot of time to take a tutorial of how an app works. This one didn’t require that as it was very intuitive and I can use all of the features immediately without a crash course.
- Finally, you can also order products in their photo printing store from prints, mugs, canvas prints, printed scrapbooks/photobooks, and much more. Essentially what any online photo print store would offer. I have used Walmart for this in the past and I found the prices in the Keepy Photo Store to be about 10-20% more per item. Which, when you consider your time as money – the convenience of doing it all in the app, it could be worth it.
How Much is the Keepy App?
The Keepy App is free. There is also a paid version. I am not big on spending money unnecessarily, but for me, I upgraded to the paid version without a second thought.
The paid version is $5.49 per month (the website shows $2.99 per month, but my phone app shows it at $5.49, so that is what I am going off of) OR $9.99 for 1-year. I think you could guess that I paid the $10 for a year of service. Out of all of the spending I could do, this one was a no-brainer for me!
Here’s the difference and why I chose to upgrade to the paid vs. the free version:
- The free version allows for 5 Keepy’s per month. That is not enough for one child in our family, let alone 6!
- For the $9.99, I can have an unlimited number of Keepy’s (like 100 a day or more if I wanted!). That’s priceless for memories!
- Plus, if I do decide to use the store to order prints or products – I get them for 50% off! Do you know what that means?? YES, cheaper than Walmart, and at 50% off, cheaper than Costco and Sam’s Club. That alone will make up the $9.99 annual rate.

Here is a chart demonstrating all of the benefits:
But, before you decide to pay for a membership (even at $10 a year), use the free version for a week or two and see if it is something you would use. We try to be intentional about every dollar that leaves our bank, this is just one more to consider before jumping in.
I pretty much knew immediately this was fulfilling a great need in my life and more than worth the $9.99. So I personally used it for a whole 5 Keepy’s the first day, was at my limit and upgraded after just one day of use. π I still haven’t used the printing services, so although they are 50% off for me now, I can’t vouch for the whole experience of using this aspect of the service. But even if I never used the store, the other features are a huge time and money saver for me!

I just started using the free version of keepy and I love it also but it seems they increased the yearly price from 9.99 to 13 and now it’s 17. Did your yearly price increase? I find it difficult to get invested in an app that holds sentimental items and then feel forced to pay whatever yearly few they keep increasing. Thoughts?

I think itβs $29/year now?

I just checked and mine says 59.00 a year plus tax!

How is the Keep App better than taking a photo and storing it in an album with your kids name on your phone? It seems like you can do everything it does on your phone. Not really seeing the value.

I hated the pandemic clause because it isolated us, but I am so grateful for the development of an online learning system. The way of digitally keeping Artwork and Schoolwork appeals to me a lot. I already have my entire homework in digital format. Even school materials I am getting from over here that provides any essayshark review I need. Our teachers also urge us to use applications such as keeping sheets online because it is so convenient to use and easy to check for teachers. They offer a compact library of all my creations so far. I have numerous essays and essay reviews that I hold on these platforms. Briefly, it is a boom in our education era.

I think the Keepy app is a great way to keep artwork and schoolwork on a digital platform. The app can be used on any device and provides storage space for up to 1,000 photos and videos. This storage space is enough for the average student to keep all their artwork, notes, and homework. I think that this app is perfect for any student who likes to keep their work in their own personal space and can be helpful for teachers who want to keep a digital back-up of all the work.

Keepy is a mobile app that allows families to capture and share their children’s artwork, schoolwork, and other memorable moments. With Keepy, parents can take photos of their child’s artwork or school projects, add notes and voice recordings, and save them all in one organized place.

In addition to its features for families, Keepy also offers tools for educators. Teachers can use the app to showcase their students’ artwork and progress, making it a valuable tool for parent-teacher communication.
