We wanted to give you all a head’s up on what we plan to be working on behind the scenes over here to bring you this holiday season. We have our plans laid out and want to share as well to see if there is something that you might want us to write, share or talk about this holiday season that might be helpful to you.
Here’s our plan on what we hope to post and it will continue throughout this awesome holiday season!
- Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals
- Other hot holiday deals
- Our last installment of the Holiday Shopping Tips
- List of quick Black Friday tips to help you be the most efficient shopper
- Continued Daily Dose of Thrifty – with a holiday spin to include homemade gift ideas, decor, recipes, and more holiday tips.
- Continued Thrifty Kids Thursday with a holiday spin for crafts, activities, gift making and more.
- Articles on “How To Have a Minimalist Christmas.”
- Ideas on ways to give to others this season for a low or $0 budget.
- Plus – we will be sharing our exact Christmas budget for this year and how we plan to stick to it (the nitty-gritty of our holiday finances!)
Please glance over the above list and let us know if there is something that appeals to you more than another or if there is something not on the list that you would love to see on here!
We also wanted to throw in a picture from one of our favorite artists! The above picture is a painting by Thomas Kinkade: The Night Before Christmas.

Minimalist Christmas!
While we have gotten better at this, we wish to learn how to explain to family that we would rather them not spend their money on junk gifts for us. We would rather they spend their funds on fixing their car or trips to see us. How do we make extended family gatherings cheaper and pleasant?

First year for us with all adults as the kids are grown. Much smaller Christmas this year… better to focus on the “Reason for the Season”.

That is a beautiful painting. Kincaid rocks. He has some of the most gorgeous christmas items. TY for sharing.

First of all, I love Thomas Kincaid. I’m lucky I was albe to purchase that one a few years ago. I have it up year round.
I can’t wait to see your daily dose of thrifty. I’m looking for ways to cut back on holiday spending.
