Note from The Thrifty Couple: Just like we said last week, we are very excited about this guest post from Andie, mother of 8 (she just safely delivered her eighth child!). This is the third part of a 3-part series featured during the month of June! June and summertime is a great time to implement something like this to get into the habit of children having quiet times so that when the busyness of fall hits, it will be easier to continue with this. We’ve had the opportunity to meet Andie, the author of Quiet Time for Kids, and she is a very kind and genuine person that has a lot of passion about the subject of kids engaging in personal Bible study time and has some wonderful ideas and resources she’s created for each of us! In addition, we asked her if she would provide our amazing readers a discount and she has – you can get these Bible Studies for only $3 each after coupon code (normally $6)!! Here’s part 3 of 3 in her guest post series. Enjoy!
In my first two posts (part 1, part 2), I shared our family’s journey in teaching our young children to have a daily quiet time with the Lord. In this final post, I want to share with you a very simple way to create a Bible Study Notebook for each of your children using supplies you likely already have on hand at home. Here is a picture of two of the Bible Study Notebooks my kids have made.
You can get a copy of the cover page we used in our
free ‘Animals in the Bible’ study at our website
This is a picture of the inside with all the labeled dividers
of each study this child plans to finish.
To make your Bible Study Notebook, I recommend that you use a binder with a one inch spine or bigger. You will also need a set of tabbed dividers to separate each of the individual studies that your child completes. Print the cover page found in the ‘Animals in the Bible Study’ free download on our website and sit down with your child as they write their name and decorate their cover page. This binder will become a real treasure to you and your child as you see the progress and growth your child makes. It also can be a sweet testimony to the faithfulness of God’s Word and an evangelistic tool as your child shares it with friends, family and neighbors. At our website, Quiet Times for Kids, you will find many different topical Bible studies that your children will love. We even have a study on the Armor of God that includes Lego Bible Diorama assignments that your boys are sure to love!
In our home we use our Bible Study Notebooks in many different ways. Each child over six has their Bible Study Notebook in their school box. At various times of the day (sometimes first thing in the morning, sometimes in the middle of the school day when I need some planning time and sometimes when we are all just having a terrible day and need to refocus!) I will have them spend twenty minutes completing a daily study. I choose the topics for each child individually based on what I perceive each child’s greatest needs are at the time. This system of encouraging a daily quiet time with the Lord has been a great blessing for the spiritual growth of our children and the peace of our home! Please come visit us at our website and see the many Bible studies we have available as well as the many free resources and encouraging videos… and don’t forget to use the coupon code ministudy50 to get 50% off any of our mini studies!
* Andie is the happy wife of her high school sweetheart and mama to eight children. They live in Parker, Colorado and spend their time enjoying each other, discipling their little ones and finding ways to earn extra income through family businesses! She is also the creator of Quiet Times for Kids, an online printable Bible Study program for Children.
What a great opportunity for your kids this summer and beyond and at a very affordable price! Thanks Andie and family! To find the Mini Bible Study Series, head over to the Quiet Times for Kids site HERE and look for the image pictured below and click on it! They will be $3 each after the coupon code: ministudy50.
