When we think about Thanksgiving, a host of thoughts come to our mind. We are thankful for our family, friends, and our freedoms we enjoy. We are thankful to the Lord God who has blessed our nation and family with all that we have. We love gathering with family during this time to rejoice together and enjoy the time of fellowship as we share a meal and rejoice in all the ways we have been blessed.
But we also know that during this economy we all have been impacted in several ways. This is why we have joined together with several of our dear blogging friends to help alleviate some of the costs up this upcoming Thanksgiving meal. We have teamed up to award (1) reader $136 in cash for their Thanksgiving meal.
While we would have loved to have raised more money to give away, we are so thankful for the award we have and pray it will be a blessing.
Here’s how to enter for a chance to win:

What helps me through the tough economic times is reminding myself that it can always be worse. I (or my child) could be gravely ill, we could be living on the street, and with no friends or family. This helps me give more & appreciate living on a lot less. The season (well, any day) is about helping others, and we all tend to loose sight if that too easily.

My family has helped me to remain thankful. Times are tight but we work together to make things easier.

I think the thing that helps me be most thankful despite the economic changes is to remember what is really important and not get hung up on the things we don’t have.
Heather
The many blessings that I have in my life help keep me positive. I also try to focus on the positive and what we do have instead of what we don’t.

After losing our baby girl last year (stillborn @ 38 weeks), the birth of our healthy baby girl this year has made us extremely grateful. Losing our baby girl last year opened our eyes to the more important things in life and we look at life a little differently now. We realize that material objects are not as important as a healthy family and to be thankful for all that God HAS given us and the strength that we have found in each other.
Rebecca
The economic changes have helped us put in perspective what is REALLY important in life, and so we are very thankful for what we have, health, family and a home.

Despite my husband losing his job recently and my job cutting my pay by $500 a month, I still believe that everything will be fine. I trust that the Lord above will provide for our family. I also focus on the fact that we are blessed in so many ways: good health, and wonderful children and grandchildren.

What helps me through the tough times is to be very thankful for my family. Since my husband was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, I am thankful for a lot more of the smaller things in life and I keep reminding myself that things are not as bad as they could be.

The health of my family and the love of my family gets me through the day. Every day we tell each other ” I love you” . Even my 17 yro son says it, but better than that we show it. I am so thankful for them and even though we struggle we do it with humor and love.

The knowledge that “this too, shall pass” has really helped me continue to be thankful in these economic times. I believe everything happens for a reason and everything will work out for our country regardless of the hard times we have ahead of us. I also look to my family and friends (and even acquaintances) during tough times and seriously can not thank them enough for all they do to keep each others spirits up. I am truly thankful for all the people that I have in my life that support me, my fiancee, my son, and the rest of my family.
Thanks for the chance. bekki1820cb at gmail dot com

I’m thankful for the love of the Lord, family, health and the gift of life every day. I’m blessed to have a loving husband and healthy children that are God fearing, loving, productive members of society. In spite of all, I am thankful for every experience in this journey of life. I live each day with a humbled heart, knowing, someone else has it worse than I.
