So it happened again. Â I really never know how or why it happens, but it happens every holiday season. Â Maybe it happens at your house. Â Maybe you’re the culprit that’s the cause at someone else’s. Â But no matter how or why its almost as much of a tradition as hanging the stockings with care.
Just what is it you ask?  Its the proverbial overuse of bathroom tissue (a nice way of saying toilet paper) which requires a massive re-stocking between Christmas and New Years.  Yes, the stockings hung with care are not the only items being stocked – its also our pantry that is quickly depleted of its tissue contents.
Now you might think I’m being a bit forward in sharing our holiday tradition. Â But the reason I share is because White Cloud really does come to our rescue. Â When Cassie looks at me the day after Christmas and almost laughingly said, “It happened again” I know that meant it was time to run to Walmart and find my way to the paper department. Â There really is a reason why White Cloud is referred to as The Smarter Alternative as their toilet paper (err, bathroom tissue) is a good quality for a much-cheaper everyday price.
What is great for you is that White Cloud wants to give out three $20 Walmart gift cards to help with your holiday recovery – that is, the added expenses that come with the holiday season. Â So not only are they providing you a necessity at a great everyday value price – but now they want to help you with your other holiday expenses as you wrap up this year and head into the next.
You will have until Friday, January 4th to enter to win – which hopefully means even more fun stories to read and even more fun to go around!
Instructions to Enter
To enter leave a comment below. Â Please share with us one of the following:
- We would love to hear one of your quirky family traditions (can you beat our annual stock-up on paper products after Christmas??)
- Just leave a comment on what you would do with an extra $20 gift card.
Its really that simple to enter – and then three of you will be selected to win a $20 Walmart gift card.
The giveaway will run through Friday, January 4th, 2013 at 11:59 pm PST. The three winners will be selected randomly and will be notified via email. Must be 18+ to enter and reside in the United States. This promotion is in NO way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Pinterest. The information collected is utilized for entry into this giveaway only. White Cloud is sponsoring this giveaway and the gift cards will be sent after confirming your contact information.

We play the dice game Christmas morning (some people call it Dirty Santa). Anyway, the rules are that everything has to be bought at Walgreens Christmas morning. Each year one person is nominated to be Santa and do the shopping. It’s really hilarious the stuff with people come up with (and to see all the other people shopping as well). 🙂

I would spend my Walmart gift card on craft supplies for my best “ugly” sweater. Every year for as long as I can remember my whole family spends all year making the best ugly sweater for our Christmas dinner. It’s hilarious when my two different culture family (Asian and Puerto Rican) come to dinner with their off the wall christmas sweater. We have prizes for the best ugly sweater and its always a blast.

Organizing my attic/craft space is on my resolutions for the new year: I’d stock up on supplies to organize my space: folders, boxes, etc.

I’d probably use it to stock up on necessities…maybe toilet paper!
Cindy
It might be a toss up between buying something fun like scrapbook stuff and buying something sencible like pullups or socks for my kids. Unfortunatly the sencible is far too likely to win this one!
Candice
I would look for some holiday clearance and food items.

Our semi-tradition is telling stories while we put up the Christmas ornaments on the tree. It of course started with my inquizitive daughter asking her usual million questions about everything! The year we adopted my husband’s three siblings, it turned into story time and healthy rememberance of their parents and past Christmases. I even surprised his brothers with my unprofessional attempted at a few homemade recreations of the ornaments that they had described to us from their childhood. It is a very special time that hope never gets old to them!
And I would absolutely use the giftcard to stockup on TP!!!!
Tara H
I would use the gift card to help my dad buy things for himself. We just lost my Mom right before Christmas so he needs all the help he can get.
Kim B
I would buy some white cloud toilet paper … with 6 daughters plus all their friends we go thru it faster than we can get to walmart to re-stock
Stefanie Moran
Our holiday tradition is after we put the decorations away, we rearrange the living room and do a “winter cleaning” like spring cleaning of the whole house. Then come spring time it seems like less work! I would use the gift card to restock facial tissues and disinfectant spray, since all 4 of us have been sick twice since thanksgiving.
Katie L
buying some toilet paper sounds good
Katie L
we go shopping every Saturday morning before most people are up and my husband plays hide and seek with the kids in the target baby department.
Debra Pauley
I’d probably use it to stock up on necessities…maybe toilet paper!

Jodi K

We don’t have any quirky traditions, but we usually have pizza or tacos for our Christmas Eve meal, then open gifts after.
nicole
quirky family tradition…it’s the first year with our baby so my husband and i each bought her gifts and we opened the gifts that we bought for her. my husband opened the ones from me and vice versa. because we knew she wouldnt be excited.
Jill
I would use it for groceries

Each year we take our girls to Silver Dollar City. They get to pick out an ornament, which we date and write their name. When they’re grown they’ll have a good start on ornaments for their own tree and each with memories too!
I would use the gift card towards something for my twin nieces who are graduating this year!
Julie Wood
One of my quirky family traditions that we do at Christmas is wear our ugly Christmas sweaters and wear our reindeer hats or Santa Hats on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! We will sometimes go out in public like this, and we do get looked at!
Julie Wood
If I win the $20 dollar Walmart gift card, I am going to stock up on Paper Towels because my dad will not stop using them all up!

Robert S.
We would stock up on spices – our spice cabinet looks sad.
Lynne
We always have a pineapple on Christmas day. I still don’t know why we do that
Brenda H
Family tradition is fondue for Christmas! A little strange, but we love it!
Brenda H
I would use the extra money to get pop-tarts (a luxury that we love to eat, but don’t purchase often).
Bobbie
A tradition we do is when we take down the Christmas cards. We put them in our napkin holder on our kitchen table. Every night at supper we draw a card and pray for that family.
Another idea is to cut out the front cover of each card and cut them all up into pieces to create puzzles for your little ones.
If I had $20.00 to Walmart I will look and see what items are on clearance first. Then if there is anything economical that I use, I would buy that. If not, I would then look at the sale items to see if there is anything we need/want. If that fails, then I would buy some bar soap and dog food (both that we are running low on) Sounds exciting, huh? 🙂
Small Footprints
If I had an extra $20 to spend, I’d probably buy bird food & suet … yep, got to take care of our wild friends. 🙂 BTW, love your tradition!! We typically buy toilet paper before the holidays and then tell our family that they can arrive at any time … and that we’re ‘ready’. LOL!
Kortney Picker
I definitely cannot beat your funny holiday tradition, it’s funny how these things start!! I guess it has been a tradition that ever since I was little my dad would forget to get my mom a gift until it was too late, so Christmas Eve we would run to whatever store was open so he could stock up on hanes underwear and socks for her Christmas gift…now that I’m married I realize how bad this really was!!
Barb O'Byrne
Hmm.. I could “stock-up” on plenty of stuff, but I already have a great stockpile to see us through the next couple of months. Therefore, this year I would ask that the card be sent to our local foodbank. In previous years, bad decisions lead us to need the foodbank- now we are able to give back.
Carolyn G
After Christmas, I stock up on Christmas items for next year and I would definitely spend the $20 on more Christams stuff
Rebekah Villanueva
My husband and I were not able to exchange Christmas gifts due to a lack of money, so these gift cards would be an awesome way to be able to get each other something.
We always have a Christmas Tree and our meals vary. Some years it’s turkey and fixings and other years, like this year, we had tamales. On New Years we love to have fireworks. We weren’t able to this year as it was very cold and raining out on New Years Eve. Bummer!
sandy weinstein

I am a toliet paper fanatic. You will never come to my house when I don’t have toliet paper. When we get down to 4 rolls, off to the store I go. (of course looking for deals before hand). My mom used to give me toliet paper along with my other presents for Christmas because she knew how much I hated running low. She died 4 years ago this 01/11/13. I have not received toliet paper as a gift since. She always thought of how she could be helpful. I sure do miss her.
Sarah
I’m about to have surgery (happy Christmas/birthday/New Year to me!), so I’d spend $20 on my usual groceries and then put THAT $20 toward a massage — faster recovery, please!!
Becky
Our holiday tradition is making peanut butter balls (buckeye’s) and fudge to share with our neighbor’s. Christmas eve candlelight service. I always give my husband a small lego set. I would use the gift card for …not sure at this time, depends on who I come in contact with that may need the help.
Jillian Tyre
My younger son’s birthday is on Jan. 5th, so I would pass the card on to him to pick out a present!
