So it happened again. Â I really never know how or why it happens, but it happens every holiday season. Â Maybe it happens at your house. Â Maybe you’re the culprit that’s the cause at someone else’s. Â But no matter how or why its almost as much of a tradition as hanging the stockings with care.
Just what is it you ask?  Its the proverbial overuse of bathroom tissue (a nice way of saying toilet paper) which requires a massive re-stocking between Christmas and New Years.  Yes, the stockings hung with care are not the only items being stocked – its also our pantry that is quickly depleted of its tissue contents.
Now you might think I’m being a bit forward in sharing our holiday tradition. Â But the reason I share is because White Cloud really does come to our rescue. Â When Cassie looks at me the day after Christmas and almost laughingly said, “It happened again” I know that meant it was time to run to Walmart and find my way to the paper department. Â There really is a reason why White Cloud is referred to as The Smarter Alternative as their toilet paper (err, bathroom tissue) is a good quality for a much-cheaper everyday price.
What is great for you is that White Cloud wants to give out three $20 Walmart gift cards to help with your holiday recovery – that is, the added expenses that come with the holiday season. Â So not only are they providing you a necessity at a great everyday value price – but now they want to help you with your other holiday expenses as you wrap up this year and head into the next.
You will have until Friday, January 4th to enter to win – which hopefully means even more fun stories to read and even more fun to go around!
Instructions to Enter
To enter leave a comment below. Â Please share with us one of the following:
- We would love to hear one of your quirky family traditions (can you beat our annual stock-up on paper products after Christmas??)
- Just leave a comment on what you would do with an extra $20 gift card.
Its really that simple to enter – and then three of you will be selected to win a $20 Walmart gift card.
The giveaway will run through Friday, January 4th, 2013 at 11:59 pm PST. The three winners will be selected randomly and will be notified via email. I don’t call this a “tradition”, but it has to do with toilet paper………………………..
Our families disagree on whether the toilet paper roll should be hung so the toilet paper comes over the top of the roll, or should be hung so it pulls from the bottom. We agree to disagree on this trivial matter; but whenever we go to each other’s houses and use the bathroom, we love to make the switch to our preferred method!! So after my parents have been at my house I always find the toilet roll switched and vice versa when I go to their house. It’s just a fun thing we do to make each other smile!! 😉
Jenn
At Christmas we always make homemade English toffee and we never fail to run out of the walnuts. So one of us has to run to the store to get more – you would think we would learn.
If I won the Walmart gift card I would probably buy household necessities or craft supplies 🙂
Matt
We do cheese fondue
Amy
I shop at walmart all the time for everything so the gift card would probably just go towards food and stuff.

Our tradition is not quirky, but here it is: we put our turkey in the oven and then go to the movies. We only go to the theater (and eat turkey, come to think of it) three times a year: Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. It is nice and empty at the movies and we come home to a house starting to smell like the holiday.

We open our gifts Christmas eve and on Christmas morning we wake up late—by the time we are done showering, the cinnamon rolls I took out of the fridge when we woke up are done rising and ready to bake. They are the only thing we eat until we have a major dinner late in the afternoon.
Gloria
I would use the extra $20 for some extra seafood for our freezer. Since it is on sale this week. Thank you!
natalie

We stopped buying gift for each other because all the men in our families have lost their jobs 2 or more years. We are all in the 60’s bracket. If I was lucky enough to win a $20 gift card I would honestly buy a case of White Cloud toilet paper from Amazon, com and share it with my siblings!!!

Every year we have coffee cake and crockpot apple oatmeal for breakfast. We used to sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and light a candle, but the kids are all grown now.

I would use it for some clothing necessities my family needs. Or maybe Christmas clearance. . . .

Well for family traditions, the family plays a brand new board game every year on Christmas day and New Years day.
As for buying paper products–Cvs totally rules here. Two times a year i utilize their 10$ off 30$ selected products and then top it off with coupons.
As what i would use a $20 giftcard for: For groceries i do not have coupons for.
Liliane

I don’t have quirky traditions but I always try to get a name from the giving tree at walmart every year no matter how broke I am. It just makes me feel good. We always try a new dish on Christmas for dinner and every body rates it
Julia
Our children’s grandfather, my dad, takes the first big bow that is unwrapped from a present during our White Elephant and wears on his head the rest of the evening. Of course, everyone snaps his picture while he is wearing it.
I would use the gift card to buy some much-needed snowboots for our second oldest son.
Happy New Year!
Camilla Wilson
I spent on everybody else. I would buy me something.
Elizabeth Walker

When the holidays would come around, my father would light up the smelliest cigars imaginable and play the bugle to celebrate. I would probably use the gift certificate to buy groceries to whip up a good meal. Thanks for the giveaway!

We go out for Chinese food on Christmas Day just like the family does in our favorite movie, The Christmas Story, when the neighbor’s dogs eat their Christmas turkey.

One tradition we do is make a big pot of Black Eyed Peas and Ham hocks. No body is allowed to eat anything from midnight 12/31 till everyone has had at least one bowl of the BEP. If so, it is one years bad luck for the whole household. Also we fill a little pouch with dried black eyed peas and hide it somewhere in the living room. The child who finds it has super luck all year long. LOL
If I were to win, I would use it to stock up on canned goods. I always stock up for the year on New Years.
lisa
we drive around looking at Christmas decorations while singing Carols

I’m making lentil soup for new years.. that’s one tradition!
Melissa G
Too funny that you guys stock up on toilet paper during this wonderful time of year. A quirky Christmas tradition – We always make sure we eat a treat when we wake up, before anything else – usually chocolate, candy canes or other sweets and then we have a huge breakfast (that is not always eaten as well as it would have been without the treats). Another one is stocking up on gifts, board games, and Christmas decor during after-Christmas sales so that they last an entire year.
Melissa G
$20 for various groceries and TP would be great.
JoyceT.
We like White Cloud, it is soft and last longer than some of the other brands.
I like to keep stocked up so that we always have it and I don’t have to worry about
it, that and coffee! There are never complaints about sandpaper TP!
I would use a $20. Gift Card at the grocery store, for sure.
